Several members have been suffering video stuttering, lag or video pauses during gameplay. My old HP running Windows 7 would often have this happen, only during a race, and only pausing for a second or so. Testing on a different machine recently had my monitor turning completely off at the exit of turn 4, and then come right back at about the start/finish line. This happened about 4-5 times during a 50 lap test race. One instance under caution, had all 3 monitors go completely off for 15 seconds, the car did not move on the track, engine sound stayed the same and when the monitors came back, I was in the exact same place as when they blacked out, but everybody else had entered turn 1&2, I was about 5 car lengths from the start/finish line.
I spent about an hour looking at videos and Googling this issue, and decided to try the simplest repair first. I have only had 1 test on it so far, and it seems to have achieved the desired results. No pause, lag, stutter or blackout. It is as follows.
In search bar, or Cortana for Win 10 users, type msconfig. Find the Windows Event Log, uncheck it, and apply. Your computer will require a restart. That is it, all finished.
I do not recommend everybody doing this, only if you have video loss issues during rFactor. This string will be here for people to add to, if their machines continue having this issue. If the troubles persist, we will then attempt the (+full proc) command, as well as NVidia 3d settings. Since I do not completely understand these commands, and the NVidia video was in Italian, I chose to try the Event Log service first. I am hoping that this stops all of the video issues experienced by the 4 or 5 members that I know of.

Continued efforts, this seemed to help, but did not cure my video issues on my new/older racing PC. I do have other computers and could swap it out, but what would I learn from that? What happened? Well, we ran a Sunday night practice and again, all 3 screens vanished, I think it was last week, under yellow and poof, where did Rob go? Nowhere was the answer, 10 to 15 seconds of my car going through the outside wall on others screens, while mine, the car was exactly where the game "Paused". This makes me want to try to "PAUSE" the game while on track, and see if it is the same thing, or jump to the desktop while on track, and see if it continues, but that will be saved for a later time, when the Directors can get together and test. Most importantly here is what I have done as a resolution, so far....
As before, I had Windows Event Log turned off. I have not gone in to see if the system turned it back on, but I did make 2 other changes. One was an oversight on my part, I had never set to "Run this program as administrator" on this machine. Rookie mistake there, so I went into rFactor, right clicked on the application executable, looked like this, C:\Users\supermodfan\Desktop\SUPRS
Factor , and I set the application to run as admin. I double checked my shortcut on the desktop, and it said there to run as admin. The next thing I did was something I have never tried before.
In the shortcut I have on my desktop, I added the +fullproc command. From what I read, this allows rFactor to take advantage of using the multiple cores of newer PCs, where, when the game was released, computers really only had a single processor. To do this, in the properties of the shortcut, under target, you add that command to the end of it so, I changed "C:\Users\supermodfan\Desktop\SUPRS
Factor.exe" to this "C:\Users\supermodfan\Desktop\SUPRS
Factor.exe" +fullproc and thats it. I would add a screenshot, but I can't figure out how to do it LOL, but this is something you can google and perhaps find it better than I can describe it.
Again, I do not recommend you doing these modifications unless you are suffering from video issues currently. Ray Sand, DRock, Kyle, and myself have had video stutters and issues so far, and these posts are just to add to our troubleshooting notebook, in case somebody changes out machines, or what not, we have a place to look.
Next installment (hopefully unnecessary) I will be looking into limiting my screen rates in rFactor and my vid card to eliminate unnecessary frames. Meaning my screens refresh at 60Hz, but the game is throwing out anywhere from 120 to 180 frames per second. Thought process here is to limit game to maybe 70 or 80 fps, but maybe we will not need to do that. Mind you, this is 3 screens running 5760X1080 DPI so most of this will not affect anybody.
As always, I welcome all and every comment if anybody has adjusted their system, replies here are beneficial to the group. One odd thing I noticed Tuesday night was the pace car was not being drawn if the outside lane, 8th place car, was in my field of view. If I was ahead of him, I saw the pace car. I will have to look in my display options to see how many cars are drawn...
