Quick Results: Sand Opens SUPRS Season with Harvest of Speed Win

Ray Sand, Jr. of Rochester, NY sailed to his third Supermodified Ultimate Pavement Racing Series, (SUPRS), Harvest of Speed season opener win.  Sand, Jr. accomplished this feat at LaPorte Speedway Tuesday night after passing race leader Steve Callahan on lap 48.

Sand, Jr. is a 6-time SUPRS Gold Crest Wing Champion and this win propels him to an early 20 point lead in the 2015-16 Gold Crest Wing Championship. Sand, Jr. claimed the SUPRSCharger award for advancing the most positions from his start adding 10 bonus points to his total for the night.

Callahan held on for second some distance back, while Bob Gangwer made a late race pass on Rob Warren to claim third.

SUPRS returns to action next Tuesday night for the Black Kat Klassic at Decatur Speedway using the NASCAR Heat sim game. Practice begins at 8pm with racing at 9pm est.
