August 3, 2018 – Goshen, IN…<\/strong><\/em>The Supermodified Ultimate Pavement Racing Series, (SUPRS), pays tribute to an Oswego Speedway<\/a> icon, with the running of “The Whistler” – 14th Annual Pete Trenca Memorial on August 7, 2018.<\/p>\n

Pete Trenca Remembered<\/strong><\/p>\n

The race pays tribute to Peter “Program” Trenca, an all-around good guy and a fixture at the Oswego Speedway. Pete sold programs for over five decades before his passing in 2004.<\/p>\n

Trenca was also an integral founding member of The Eagles Fan Club at Oswego Speedway and could always be counted on for lifting the spirits of every fan that passed through the gates of “The Home of the Supermodifieds” with his distinctive whistle and cheerful welcome.<\/p>\n

Powell Could Make History<\/strong><\/p>\n

Keith Powell of Geneva, OH has a shot at winning  “The Whistler” for the third time in his C.P.R. Motorsports “Mayfield Missile” supermodified. If he does so, he would be the first driver in SUPRS history to win The Whistler more than twice.<\/p>\n

Powell is SUPRS most recent race winner and feature win could help eat away at the 79 point deficit he has to reigning Gold Crest Non-Wing Supermodified Champion, and current point leader Rob Warren.<\/p>\n

The drivers hit the track at 8:30pm for Hot Laps and then take part in the mandatory Drivers Meeting at 8:45pm. Racing starts at 9:05pm with two 10 lap Heat Races followed by the 60 lap Feature.<\/p>\n
