“Rocket” Rob Warren Routs SUPRS Field for Third Veterans Day Special Victory
\n<\/em><\/h2>\n

November 12, 2018 – Treasure Lake, TN…<\/strong><\/em>“Rocket” Rob Warren lived up to his nickname when he shot to the lead at the start of the Supermodified Ultimate Pavement Racing Series, (SUPRS), Veterans Day Special Monday at the Levi Strauss Signature Speedway, and lapped all but second place finisher Keith Powell en-route to a complete rout of the field. Just two cautions slowed Warren’s pace and he ended up winning by three seconds. Kyle Clark, a favorite to win this race, was third over a lap and a half behind Warren and a lap down to Powell at the end of 75 fast paced laps.<\/p>\n

Third Veterans Day Win for Warren
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

The win was the Pulaski, NY driver’s third overall in the Veterans Day Special and second in a row at this race. His first came in 2014. Last year he ran a similar race, wherein he nearly lapped the field in that show as well. When asked what made his car so good, he said simply, “My Uncle Dan.” Warren was alluding to his uncle that was killed in the Vietnam war. Then, just as he has in all of his Veterans Day Special wins, Warren dedicated the win to Dan. “I want to say thanks to my Uncle Dan, this one is for him,” he solemnly stated. He then added, “thanks to all of our Veterans. Their service allows us to do what we do here.”<\/p>\n

Chasing Points<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is also his third win of the season as he begins to inch ever closer to SUPRS Gold Crest Wing Championship XV points leader Keith Powell, and now trails Powell by less than 50 points. Warren had a perfect night in points after Time Trialing in first place, leading a lap in the feature and of course also winning the 75 lap race. The 1st to Finish Race Servers driver also handily won the eight lap Fast Car Dash.<\/p>\n

\"SUPRS<\/a>Turkey Shoot Next
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

Tomorrow night the SUPRS racers bring out their big guns as they go on the hunt for a Burgers’ Smokehouse Turkey in the 14th Annual Turkey Shoot at Memphis Motorsports Park. The popular race awards the winner a Burgers’ Smokehouse Turkey delivered to their doorstep in time for Thanksgiving.<\/p>\n

The drivers start their hunt for the prized turkey when practice begins at 8:15pm. Time Trials are set for 8:45pm with the six lap Turkey Trot the first race of the night at 9:05pm. Car count will dictate if there is an eight lap Heat Race prior to the 40 lap Feature.<\/p>\n
