Race Honors Non-Racing Legend<\/h4>\n

The race honors Peter \u201cProgram\u201d Trenca who was a fixture at the Oswego Speedway selling programs for over five decades before his passing in 2004. Trenca was also an integral and founding member of The Eagles Fan Club at Oswego Speedway. Pete could always be counted on for lifting the spirits of every fan that passed through the gates of \u201cThe Home of the Supermodifieds\u201d with his distinctive whistle and cheerful welcome.<\/p>\n

Former Winners Expected to Compete<\/h4>\n

In 14 previous renditions of “The Whistler”, there have been 11 different drivers that have taken the victory in the prestigious sim race. Of those, three of them are expected to be in competition August 6. Former winners Rob Warren, Keith Powell, and Carl Becker have indicated that they plan to compete for another win.<\/p>\n

Two-time champions Warren and Powell are two, of three, two-time winners, and could become the first three-time Pete Trenca victor. Becker, who won the race in 2011, hopes to join Warren, Powell, and Domenic Gioia in the two-time winner club on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

The former winners and a host of other SUPRS racers will be trying to stop Dave “SpeedyMan” Ohh, who’s been on a hot streak of late. Ohh has three races in a row, and just last week won the Mr. Online Supermodified Cup presented by 1st<\/sup> to Finish Race Servers.<\/p>\n

Ohh’s run of wins and bonus points accumulated over the last three races, has put him hot the heals of SUPRS Gold Crest Wing Supermodified Championship points leader Rob Warren and within striking distance of his first SUPRS championship.<\/p>\n

This event is part of the SUPRS\/HeatFinder.net<\/a> Summer Supermodified Challenge and will use the NASCAR Heat sim racing platform.<\/p>\n

Practice for this race that also rewards the winner with a Guaranteed Starting Spot for the 15th<\/sup> Annual Topless! 200, begins at 8:30 pm. The green flag drops on racing action at 9:05pm with two 10 lap Heat Races followed by the 60 lap Feature.<\/p>\n
