Dave Ohh Sweeps Independence Day Twins<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

June 30, 2020 – Oswego, NY\u2026<\/strong><\/em>KeDave Ohh continued added two more feature wins to push his total to six straight Supermodified Ultimate Pavement Racing Series, (SUPRS), checkered flags when he flew through the fireworks and swept the Independence Day Twin 35s June 30 at Oswego Speedway. Rob Warren and Keith Powell, who split the wins last year, did well to come home on the podium in each of the features this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Blasts to Front in First Feature<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Ohh started in sixth place in the first Independence Day Twin 35 but was into first by the time he exited turn two after a bold three-wide move around the outside of the first two rows. He didn’t get too far though as the first of eight caution periods slowed him on lap two. That caution was the begining of a long night where only the top five finished on the lead lap, four of the 12 starters not finish, and provided plenty of fireworks in a race that had nearly as many laps under caution, (23), as it did green.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Survives Turn One Fireworks in Second Feature<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Starting on the pole for the second feature seemed like a fine place to be for Ohh after the chaos in the middle, and back, of the pack during the first 35 lap feature, and for a while it was. It wasn’t long though before Ohh, who had built up a straightaway lead encountered one of the most spectacular two-car flip that anyone could remember in a NASCAR Heat supermodified sim racing event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As Ohh sailed into turn one he found himself driving under an airborne Danny Ray, while Bobby Hayduk flipped down the track and into his path. The leader made heavy contact with both errant rookies and from there on struggled to keep his normal speed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Top Four Battle<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Second place runner Rob Warren found himself in a good position to go for the lead, but also knew that Keith Powell and Bob Gangwer were in the mix behind him. Warren simply ran out of laps, as all of the top four struggled to make their way through thick traffic, and finished in second place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Heats a Mix<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The 10 lap heat races were a mix of good and bad with the first one going green to checker with Ohh the winner, and the second one having two cautions before the first three laps were completed. Bob Gangwer crossed the line first in that one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SUPRS Mid-Season Championship Next<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

SUPRS is already at the midway point of the 2020 Gold Crest Non-Wing Supermodified season and that means that on July 7 it’s time for the Mid-Season Championship.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This big double points show includes a full format of heat races and the 100 lap feature at Oswego Speedway<\/a>. The driver that collects the most points for his heat race and feature finish is crowned the 2020 Mid-Season Champion!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Official practice for the SUPRS Gold Crest Non-Wing Supermodified Mid-Season Championship begins at 8:30pm. There is a Drivers Meeting at 8:45pm. Racing is set to start at 9:05pm with the first of two 10 lap qualifying heat races. The green flag for the 100 lap feature is schedule to fly at about 9:20pm ET.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
