Surviving<\/em> Wing Side Up Twin 25<\/em> Wreck-fest Rewarding for Brad Keysor and Dave Ohh<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

December 1, 2020 – Bristol, TN…<\/em><\/strong> Brad Keysor and Dave Ohh, (who was also third in the first feature), rode out a rash of banging, crashing, and wrecking to split the wins at the Supermodified Ultimate Pavement Racing Series, (SUPRS), 17th<\/sup> Annual Wing Side Up Twin 25s at Bristol Motor Speedway. Both races were filled with a multitude of cautions as drivers struggled to gain control of their cars at the fast, high-banked racetrack with the first race having five caution periods, but also six lead changes among four different drivers in the topsy-turvy battle for supremacy. All-time Bristol winner, Rob Warren of Pulaski, NY had a good night with two podiums, (P2 in his winged supermodified and P3 in the non-wing show), while rookie Ryan Cloonan once again proved very capable by finishing second in the non-wing event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Track Record Falls, First Wins for Two<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Dave Ohh broke the four year old winged supermodified track record by almost three-tenths of a second in Time Trials. Ohh clicked off a 11.166 to set the new mark. The top four qualifiers were all under the old record of 11.464 with only a tad over six tenths separating the Elite 8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Danny Ray of Goshen, IN and Bobby Hayduk of Brook Park, OH were happy to win their respective heat races to notch their very first SUPRS victory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First Start for Scott<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Michael Scott of Brandenburg, KY made his first SUPRS start a memorable one. After receiving a DQ in Time Trials for taking an extra lap, and a poor showing in his Heat Race, the real supermodified driver rallied back to finish in the top ten for the first race just one lap down and in eleventh place for the second feature on the same lap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Coming Up<\/h4>\n

SUPRS action continues next week with race one of the Empire State Super Series Regional Tour and Blind Date Night. The racers won\u2019t know until after hot laps which of three possible tracks they\u2019ll compete on with their NASCAR Heat winged supermodifieds.<\/p>\n
