January 8, 2021 – Richwood, OH…<\/em><\/strong>Fresh off a two race swing in Canada, the Supermodfiied Ultimate Pavement Racing Series, (SUPRS), is back in the States and heading for Ohio and to \u201cThe North Coast Home of the Supermodifieds\u201d for two nights of NASCAR Heat supermodified sim racing action on January 12-13 for the 13th<\/sup> Annual Terry Gibson Memorial at Sandusky Speedway<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two Nights of Supermodified Sim Racing Action<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Terry Gibson Fast 50 will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, and practice gets underway at 8:00 pm with racing set for 8:45 pm. The winner of this race becomes a guaranteed starter for the the big 100 lap feature on Wednesday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That show on January 13, 2021 is the 13th<\/sup> Annual Terry Gibson Memorial 100 a race to honor the memory of Terry Gibson, a supermodified racer that lost his life at Toledo Speedway while racing his real supermodifed. This NASCAR Heat race at Sandusky gets underway with practice at 8:00 pm, followed by the driver\u2019s meeting at 8:15 pm. After that drivers take to the track for time trials at 8:30 pm with racing slated to begin with heats at 8:40 pm. The green flag drops on the main event at 9:15 pm after driver introductions and pre-race festivities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Steve Callahan never gave up and finally won the one that always got away-the Terry Gibson Memorial in 2020.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Last year, SUPRS Lifetime Member, Steve Callahan of Brooklyn, OH fullfilled a long-time goal by finally winning the Terry Gibson Memorial 100<\/a>. Callahan had won the Gibson Fast 50 once before, and had led the 100 several times, only to have his hopes dashed near the end of the race on multiple occasions. \u201cThis is just such an honor to win the Terry Gibson Memorial. The Gibson family have given their lives to this sport, it\u2019s all just very humbling,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The winner of the 100 lap race becomes a guaranteed starter for the season ending 17th<\/sup> Annual Summit Classic 125 at Madera Speedway in April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
