February 2, 2021 – Enterprise, FL…<\/strong><\/em>Dave Ohh triumphed for the second night in a row, and the second year in a row on the second night of the Supermodified Ultimate Pavement Racing Series, (SUPRS), Florida Speedweeks 2021, Tuesday at Black Creek Raceway in Enterprise. Three-time Black Creek winner Bob Gangwer finished second, while Gary Waldron ran a great race and came home in third place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clean Nose and Opened Doors for Ohh<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Ohh, who has plenty of experience in NASCAR Heat, knew that the key to getting to the front from his eighth starting spot was to keep the nose clean, and wait for some open doors. “My main priority was to keep the car clean,” he said. “I was thankful that I was able to do that. I just followed the 35, (defending Florida Speedweeks Champion Rob Warren), through the doors he opened.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ohh then got another break after he passed Warren for third. “I got into third and I had a fresh car and I could see the top two battling,” he said. “I followed Bob under Gary in turn three, (and into second place), but I knew it would be tough to get by Bob.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The TMS Wolfpack driver waited for just the right moment and was able to get a great run down the front stretch under the leader. “I got a better run into three and I just held it under Bob,” explained Ohh. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I have to give a shout out to The Mod Squad<\/a> and HeatFinder.net<\/a> and I have to say thanks to the lapped cars tonight. There weren’t a lot of them, but they held their line and didn’t race the leaders.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Michigan Hill Gang Leads the Pack<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Michigan Hill Gang members and SUPRS veterans Gary Waldron and Carl Becker brought the 12 car field down for the green flag, with Waldron getting the jump into turn one, and Becker falling comfortably into second place. Waldron held the lead for the first 14 laps until fellow Midwesterner Bob Gangwer, who had passed Becker, eventually made his way past Waldron as well. Waldron didn’t give up though and hung on for a fine third place finish. “I’m going to bed happy tonight,” said Waldron who has been a SUPRS member since 2004.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
