Brad Keysor Outguns Dave Ohh by .012 Seconds in Topless! 200 Pole Night Shoot Out<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

August 17, 2021 – Oswego, NY…<\/strong><\/em> Brad Keysor came into the Supermodified Ultimate Pavement Racing Series, (SUPRS), 17th Annual Topless! 200 Time Trials Tuesday night loaded for bear, and ended up breaking his own, one-month old track record by .011 seconds. He then held his breath as two-time pole sitter Dave Ohh took to the track expecting the two-time pole sitter to once again take the top spot. Ohh’s lap of 15.657 was just .001 seconds off Keysor’s old track record and .012 seconds behind his new mark, leaving Keysor to breath a sigh of relief, knowing that few others could even come close to his record setting lap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both will be in familiar territory when the field rolls out of turn four to take the green flag for the 17th<\/sup> Annual Topless! 200 at Oswego Speedway, after sweeping the front row starting spots for the third straight year. The only difference? Keysor was able to topple Ohh’s strangled hold on the Topless! 200 pole to claim his first with a speed of 143.815 mph. Ohh may not have gotten his third straight pole, but he still moves into rare company with Keysor, Myles Maxon, and Joe Achzet with three total front row starts. The only driver to have more is Ray Sand, Jr.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Excited to Finally Get the Topless! Pole<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

“I’m excited to finally be on the pole and and be on the inside for the first time,” Keysor said. Keysor has his sights on the perfect triple crown as he eyes the third jewel in the SUPRS Triple Crown of Supermodified Sim Racing presented by Icings on Top. “I’m excited to be on the Topless! pole and go for the Triple Crown. I know Dave is going to go off quick and early, but I’m going to run the race in 50 lap segments and hope I’ve got something for him for the last 50.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ryan Cloonan was the only other driver in the 15s and clicked off a lap of 15.677 as the first qualifier of the night. “It’s a tribute to Ryan running that 15.67, because that really put the pressure on to get it right,” said Keysor of Cloonan’s run.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Breen, Warren Win Heats<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Greg Breen won the wild and wooly first qualifying heat over Bob Gangwer after half the field was wiped out in turn three on the first lap after Bobby Hayduk and Danny Ray contact and collected Carl Becker. Connor Kennard made his first start in SUPRS competition and held on for a few laps longer before spinning out of the race. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kennard, even though he finished ahead of half of the starting field of the first heat race, will have to start behind all other qualified drivers of the Topless! 200 because he is still under the SUPRS probationary period where a driver must have started at least three races to receive his starting handicap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the second year in a row, for pole sitter and Topless! 200 winner, Rob Warren was relegated to a qualifying heat race but made the most of it with a dominating win over Steven Vincent, Keith Powell, and Zach Sears. Powell missed the drivers meeting and only got one lap for qualifying, while Sears missed the drivers meeting and time trials and had to start at the tail of the heat. Gary Waldron and Dick Schuler had separate incidents that put them out of the 10 lap race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Topless! 200 on Wednesday<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The anticipation now reaches a frenzy, as the provisional starting line up has been set, and all eyes are focused on the drop of the green flag for the “Original 200 Lap Supermodified Sim Race,”the SUPRS Topless! 200 at Oswego Speedway. The grand finale\u2019 to the<\/span> 17th<\/sup> Anniversary Gold Crest Non-Wing Supermodified Championship, this race is 200 laps of strategy, speed, skill and patience modeled after the famed Oswego Speedway<\/a> International Classic 200-the greatest of all real supermodified races.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Four former winners have qualified into the race and three drivers are expected to make their first Topless! 200 start on Wednesday. In addition several other competitors are expected to start the race at the back, potentially making this largest starting field in the 17 year history of the race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
