July 6, 2005 – Jennerstown, PA….<\/strong><\/em>After a month of running special non-points test races using the new Shaker Designs non-wing supermodified for NASCAR Heat, the Supermodified Ultimate Pavement Racing Series made history in the online racing world when the group unleashed the first non-wing supermodified ever at the Independence Day Twin 25s on July 6 at Jennerstown Speedway.<\/p>\n

When the checkered flag flew for the first ever non-wing supermodified points show, SUPRS co-founder John “SFJ” Davidson was sitting in victory lane after leading all 25 from the pole position. Not to be outdone, Canadian stand-out Sean “Racer” Gibbs secured the victory in the second 25 lap feature after a strong run from seventh starting position, (Gibbs was scheduled to start in eighth but pole-sitter Frank Ferry was unable to make the start).<\/p>\n

AJ Truax had a great night after coming home in second for both features, while Jim Crannell also showed great consistency by finishing in third place for both 25 lappers.<\/p>\n

Heat race wins went to Davidson and Truax. Truax also had the fastest lap of the second race with a 16.899. Gibbs led the most laps in the second race at 10. After failing to finish the first feature, Steve Callahan started last in the second one and marched his through the field, making up nine places to finish eleventh.<\/p>\n

A total of 20 drivers signed in for these races and a night that is sure to be considered another historic first for SUPRS and the online racing world.<\/p>\n
