December 13, 2022\u2013 St. Pie, QC, CAN\u2026<\/strong><\/em>Brad Keysor won his third Burgers\u2019 Smokehouse<\/a> ham after leading all 25 laps of the Supermodified Ultimate Pavement Racing Series, (SUPRS), Nineteenth Christmas Special on December 13 at Sanair Super Speedway<\/a>. Keysor who won the race in 2019 and 2021 had his hands full holding of 2020 Christmas Special winner Dave Ohh who came home second. Zach Sears had a consistent and clean run to roll under the checkered flag in third. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Feels good to win this,” Keysor said after the race. “Thanks to Burgers’ Smokehouse, this is always a goal at the start of the season to win this, the Turkey Shoot, and of course the Triple Crown.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rookie, Daniel Nans continued to impress, and in just his second SUPRS start, (his first rFactor event with SUPRS), dodged a couple of crashes en-route to marching his way to a top five after starting last in the 14 car field. “It feels great,” Nans replied when asked how it felt to run so well against some tough competitors. “It was a very fun race.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Five cautions slowed the race for 11 laps. But it took nearly half the race before the first yellow flag flew for Dick Schuler who crashed after receiving damage a lap before when he scrubbed the wall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The worst accident of the feature came with six laps to go when Bob Gangwer caught a piece of the turn one rumble strip while running in fifth, and catapulted into the air after a sudden stop. Anthony Corsoniti was the innocent victim and both drivers were out of the race, just as their tires went flying out of the park. Steven Vincent, who was making his first SUPRS feature start of the season was also involved but was able to continue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SUPRS will return to action after the New Year for the 19th<\/sup> Annual Crazy Canuck Snowball Derby and Can-Am Challenge on January 4, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n
