Bob Gangwer Wins First Summit Classic 125 after Eleven Years of Trying
\n<\/em><\/h2>\n

Madera, CA\u00a0– April 29, 2015…<\/strong><\/em>It may have taken him 11 years, but Bob Gangwer made the last regularly scheduled NASCAR Heat race of the Supermodified Ultimate Pavement Racing Series his finest when he won the Summit Classic 125 at Madera Speedway.<\/p>\n

Myles Maxon came home second and officially won his third SUPRS Gold Crest Wing Championship while Steve Callahan finished in third place.<\/p>\n

“I’m not sure what to say other than I’m pretty stoked that I could win this thing finally because it’s been a long time coming” Gangwer said. “Thanks to the guys that came out tonight and all season long and congratulations to Myles on the championship, he had one whale of a season.”<\/p>\n

After 11 years of trying, Bob Gangwer flashes under the checkered flag to win the Summit Classic 125 at Madera Speedway.<\/p><\/div>\n

Gangwer led all 125 laps of the feature after setting fast time and starting on pole position. Maxon started outside of row one and was the only driver to challenge Gangwer for the win.<\/p>\n

“I’m still looking for oxygen because of breathing the afterburner fumes from the 25,” joked the 2014-15 SUPRS Gold Crest Wing Champion. “Seriously, Bob had us covered tonight and although there was one spot where I may have had a shot at him, he was the class of the field, congratulations to him.”<\/p>\n

Carl Becker received the SUPRSCharger Award and finished the race with a strong fourth place. Steve Callahan brought home the win in the heat race.<\/p>\n

The SUPRS races will go on a much deserved break from the racing action on their own race server. Many of them will be competing through the month of May with the Xtreme Short Track Sim Racing group. SUPRS will fire up the 11th season of non-wing online sim supermodified racing the first week of June with the d\u00e9but of the very first SUPRS rFactor mod.<\/p>\n
