October 29, 2023 \u2013 New Bremen, OH\u2026<\/strong><\/em>Zach Sears of Elyria, OH bagged his first Supermodified Ultimate Pavement Racing Series, (SUPRS), Black Kat Klassic win Sunday night at New Bremen Speedway, and with it broke Dave \u201cSpeedyMan\u201d Ohh’s three year stranglehold on the popular SUPRS race. It was also the first career Ohio State 500 win for the “Buckeye” driver, and helps pad his already impressive championship points lead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zach Sears of Elyria, OH broke the Dave Ohh stranglehold on the Black Kat Klassic when he won at New Bremen Speedway on October 29, 2023. It was the first Ohio State 500 win for Sears as well. (Victory Lane Art by BreezeGraphics.c<\/a>om)<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Ohh bested seven other fast cats and came home second after leading a total of nine laps while playing cat and mouse with the winner. Ohh also broke his own existing track record at New Bremen. Brad Keysor tried in vain to catch the top two, but came up short in the green to checker 100 lapper, and had to settle for third. Ryan Cloonan was the only other driver on the lead lap in fourth, while Bob Gangwer hung on for fifth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Later this week, on November 2, SUPRS celebrates the 20th<\/sup> Anniversary of it\u2019s first sanctioned race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s rare that you find a gaming league that\u2019s stuck together five years, let alone a group that has sanctioned supermodified sim races for 20 consecutive years, and used sim racing to give back to the real racing community like the gang at the Supermodified Ultimate Pavement Racing Series has. So when it happens, that\u2019s cause for celebration. <\/p>\n\n\n

In honor of being the leader in supermodified sim racing, SUPRS presents the \u201cTriple 20s for 20\u201d show using the NASCAR Heat game and three different modifications including the very first mod ever used for SUPRS in 2004, Mike Jackson’s PSTM, (Paved Short Track Modifieds). SUPRS first fully developed modification, NHSM (NASCAR Heat SuperModified) by Kevin Marine, and SUPRS W v6 built by Quesnell Designs will also be used. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Three 20 lap features will be contested at Stafford Motor Speedway, a track that was built by SUPRS original track designer Doug \u201cFlash\u201d Forgue. The last time SUPRS raced at Stafford Motor Speedway was, in fact, 2009, where Steve Callahan won the New England 50.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Things get going a little later than normal with practice starting at 7:30pm. It will be a quick night with no Time Trials or Heat Races, and a special format to set the line-ups for the 20 lap features.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The drivers will line up based on their original SUPRS join date, with the driver having been a SUPRS member the longest to start on the pole of each 20 lap feature. It\u2019s SUPRS way of paying respect to the great core of members that have been with SUPRS for a long time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
