Chris Meyers Claims Wild SUPRS Race at Oswego Speedway
\n<\/em><\/h2>\n

Oswego, NY\u00a0\u2013 June 16, 2015\u2026<\/strong><\/em>Chris Meyers of Amherst, OH picked up his first Supermodified Ultimate Pavement Racing Series feature event of the 2015 Gold Crest Non-Wing Season presented by 1st to Finish Docks & Hoists amidst chaos and mayhem that left many drivers with battered cars and equally bruised egos. Bob Gangwer and Joe Achzet survived the chaos to finish on the podium.<\/p>\n

Chris Meyers won the June 16 regular 45 feature.<\/p><\/div>\n

Meyers made a masterful drive as he was the class of the field after he was able to grab the lead from Keith Powell early in the race with a power move to the outside on a restart.<\/p>\n

“The car was really, really good tonight,” began Meyers. “I was able to fix what was troubling me the last couple of weeks and that was trying to get the car to push. I had some great restarts after I made some gear changes and tire pressure adjustments after last week, and it just seemed to work really well tonight.”<\/p>\n

Second place finisher Bob Gangwer was happy to be back in action and pleased with his run. “Congratulations to Chris on the win, he sure had everyone covered tonight. I’m just happy to be where I am after a wild night. It was survival mode all night long out there,” he said.<\/p>\n

“It was a rough night,” said third place finisher Keith Powell. “It was a rough night for all the CPR Motorsports team and I imagine Steve will be putting some new paint on all of our cars.”<\/p>\n

Meyers led the most laps after early leader Powell tangled\u00a0with\u00a0Joe Achzet and teammate Steve Callahan. That incident was the second time during the race that multiple cars were involved in a crash, the first coming when Ray Sand, Jr. lost control off\u00a0turn four collecting over half of the field in one form or another. Both crashes led to much confusion over scoring and an extended yellow flag periods to sort things out.<\/p>\n

The racers of SUPRS will finish up the month of June with the 1st<\/sup> to Finish Docks\u00a0& Hoists IrRegular 45 at Oswego Speedway. This race pays homage to the old days of the real Oswego Speedway where drivers ran heats, semis, consolation\u00a0and a feature. Points will be paid for heats, semis and feature and drivers will have to advance through the heats to the semi making for some great racing action. Practice for this throwback\u00a0race runs from 8:00-8:30pm. A drivers meeting will take place at 8:30pm. The first heat race is set to start at 9:00pm.<\/p>\n
