Keith Powell Keeps Calm to Take Neg B Nifty 50 at SUPRS Star Speedway<\/span><\/h2>\n

Epping, NH\u00a0– July 19, 2016…\u00a0<\/span>Keith Powell will go down in history as the first ever feature winner at the Supermodified Ultimate Pavement Racing Series, (SUPRS), brand new Star Speedway for rFactor after his win in the Neg B Nifty 50 Tuesday night.<\/p>\n

Keith “Put One on Ya” Powell parked it in Star Victory Lane at the Neg B Nifty 50<\/p><\/div>\n

Powell kept his title hopes alive after running smooth and calm during the first part of the race that went green nearly to the halfway point and seemed\u00a0content to let Rob Warren and Joe Achzet set the pace up front.<\/p>\n

Bob Gangwer inherited the lead when the top two\u00a0collided with each other in turn three while navigating lapped traffic\u00a0and kept it until he too lost control on a restart and slid through the infield and slid to the back while trying to gather the car up. Powell pounced and proceeded to open up his lead on teammate Steve Callahan and third place runner Kyle Clark.<\/p>\n

Powell brought his Icings on Top, Mayfield Garage Special home for the win. \u00a0But just like the real Star Speedway the fireworks weren’t over when the checkered flag dropped over the winner.<\/p>\n

Behind him Achzet, who had worked his way back into podium contention, and Callahan, looking for a one-two CPR Motorsports sweep, came banging across the line rubbing nerf bars and wheels, with Achzet narrowly edging Callahan for second at the line before they both crashed in turn one.<\/p>\n

Clark hung on for fourth for another good run with Gangwer unofficially in the top five.<\/p>\n

Powell was also the fast qualifier and set a New Track Record of 11.362 seconds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
