20th Annual SUPRS Topless! 200 Week: The Ultimate Supermodified Sim Racing Event

August 16, 2024 – Goshen, IN – The Supermodified Ultimate Pavement Racing Series (SUPRS) is set to conclude its historic 20th consecutive year with the highly anticipated 20th Annual Topless! 200 Week. This premier supermodified sim racing event kicks off on August 19 and reaches its climax August 21 with a thrilling 200-lap race inspired by the renowned “International Classic 200” at Oswego Speedway.

The Original 200-Lap Supermodified Sim Race

Known as “The Original 200 Lap Supermodified Sim Race,” the SUPRS Topless! 200 has become a time-honored tradition in the world of online supermodified racing. This event marks the grand finale of the SUPRS summer season, attracting some of the most skilled supermodified sim racers from across the country.

Test-N-Tune Kicks off the Week on Sunday

Everything kicks off August 18 with the SUPRS Sunday Night Test-N-Tune. The drivers will have a chance to put their wing and non-wing supermodifieds on the track to test their set ups while the SUPRS directors go through systems checks in preparation for Topless! 200 Week.

A full 200 lap fuel run is planned for the non-wing cars, while a 25 lap test takes place for the wing supermodifieds. It all begins at 7pm eastern.

SUPRSNationals on Monday

On Monday, the racers strap on the wing for the the SUPRSNationals Winged Supermodified 50, which is the last Empire State Super Series Regional Tour show of the season. This year the race will use the rFactor platform.

Zach Sears stole the win last year when “Rapid” Ryan Cloonan crashed out while leading for the second year in a row. Cloonan is the current ESS points leader and is trying to break the stranglehold that Brad Keysor has had on the regional tour for the last three years.

Hammer Down into Tuesday for Topless! 200 Pole

The SUPRS racers keep the hammer down into Tuesday as they attempt to take the Pole Position for the 20th Annual Topless! 200. Only two fastest drivers are locked into the season ending supermodified sim racing event. Excitement abounds as drivers seek to set another new track record for the fourth time in five years. Dave Ohh holds the current record of 15.550 set in 2022.

Missing in action all summer, Ohh hasn’t been off of the front row of the Topless! 200 since his first effort in the race back in 2019, when he claimed the first of a record four Topless! 200 Pole Positions, it’s unknown if Ohh will go for his fifth Topless! 200 pole.

If Ohh does show, the driver he’ll most likely have to contend with is the current point leader, former track record holder, and defending race winner Brad Keysor. It’s likely that without Ohh holding him at bay, Keysor will take his second Topless! pole and fifth front row start.

Also MIA this summer is 2023 SUPRS Gold Crest Non-Wing Supermodified Season Champion-Zach Sears. If Sears shows, fans may be in for a treat as he’s the only driver since 2018 besides the aforementioned Ohh and Keysor, to sit on the front row for the Topless! 200. It wouldn’t be a surprise if the Ohio racer makes an effort to attend since after winning the Summit Classic 125 and the SUPRS All-Star Classic 200, he’s in line to win a Triple Crown of Supermodified Sim Racing presented by Icings on Top.

Don’t miss the high speed antics of the best supermodified sim racers on the planet when SUPRS 20th Annual Topless! 200 Pole Night begins at 7:45pm with the Qualifying Order Draw followed by Hot Laps. Qualifications are expected to get underway by 9:00pm.

Time to Go Topless! on Wednesday

On Wednesday, August 21 the running of the 20^th Annual Topless! 200 at Oswego Speedway will close out SUPRS historic 20th consecutive year of supermodified sim racing. New strategies are sure to come into play with new tire compounds and engine regulations having been implemented at the start of the season in June. Not only will the drivers have to be fast, but they’ll also have to be certain they have a car to finish the 200 lap grind.

Dave Ohh became the fifth driver in the history of the race to win it more than once in 2022 after lapping the entire field on the way to his first Topless! 200 win. He did it over the second largest starting field in the history of the race. Then last year Brad Keysor beat Ohh to the line in one of the closest Topless! 200 finishes in the history of the race beating “SpeedyMan” to the line by just .028 of a second. It was Keysor’s third win and tied him for most all-time with Ray Sand, Jr.

Topless! 200 Last Race of 2024 of Triple Crown

Adding to the pressure of just finishing the big race, is the fact that it’s also the third and final race of the 2024 Triple Crown of Supermodified Sim Racing presented by Icings on Top. To date, four drivers have won the Triple Crown which also includes the SUPRS All-Star 200, and the Summit Classic 125 for winged supermodifieds.

This year, Zach Sears will be looking for his first and is hoping to become just the fifth driver in 20 years to accomplish this incredible supermodified sim racing feat. Sears’ best finish in the Topless! 200 was a third in 2023.
