April 2017-The Warren/Achzet show continues as SUPRS begins the trek west with the first race at Mansfield Motorsports Speedway for the first time since 2008. Warren takes the win after a torrid battle with Achzet in the waning laps. A stop at the Indianapolis Raceway Park a week later sees Warren winning the wing portion of the event and Achzet the non-wing feature. The Jeff Russell Special at The Bullring was one of the craziest of the year to date. It was a show that it seemed like many didn’t want to lead! Four of the five drivers that held the lead at one point ran out of fuel! Kyle Clark ended up taking his second win of the season. The season concluded with the SUPRS Season Summit Classic 125 at Madera Speedway. Bob Gangwer kicked off the week with a win in the 50 lap Monday Madera Madness non-wing race that was another wild show that had 7 cautions that totaled nearly 40 laps. Joe Achzet grabbed the pole for the 13th Annual Summit Classic 125 with Rob Warren on the outside front-row for the third year in a row. June 2017-SUPRS releases a 14 race non-wing supermodified schedule with all races being rFactor and held at Oswego Speedway. July 2017-Rob Warren starts the month off with a sweep of the Independence Day Twin 35s, then follows up the next week with the Mid-Season Championship. The points race widens, and Warren is alone on top. Jeff Weber wins his first feature in over five years when he leads all 45 laps of a green to checker race to close out the month on the 18th.

August 2017-The month opens with the two-day 10th Annual Mr. Online Supermodified show. Rob Warren lowers the wing track record to 15.711 on night one and goes on to win his heat race and the feature. Then on night 2, he again sets a new track record, and wins his heat. However Keith “Put One on Ya” Powell claims the feature and gains enough points to beat out Warren for the Mr. Online Supermodified title-his second in a row and record breaking third overall. On 8/8 Kyle Clark fulfills a dream when he wins his first non-wing supermodified sim racing feature at Oswego Speedway. Domenic Gioia was on top of the world when he won the heat and led all but two laps to claim The Whistler-13th Annual Pete Trenca Memorial on 8/15. Keith Powell throws one last-ditch effort at winning his second SUPRS Championship when he claims the Finale’ 45 but it’s not enough as Rob Warren wins his heat and finishes fifth-enough to claim his third overall SUPRS Championship.  As Topless! 200 Week kicks off, Kyle Clark takes SUPRSNationals and rolls into victory lane for the fourth time in his career. Rob Warren sets another New Track Record for Non-Wing Supermodifieds at Oswego dropping the time to 16.154 to set on the pole for the Topless! 200. He then goes on to lead all but two laps of the season ending race to take his second one in a row. He ends the season with six wins total and the Gold Crest Non-Wing Supermodified Season Championship.

October 2023-The historic 20th consecutive year for the Supermodified Ultimate Pavement Racing Series, (SUPRS), begins with the largest schedule ever released in the history of the sanction. Eight new to the series tracks are added, several tracks return after an absence from the schedule, more nights with double races added, along with expanded multi-race regional tour swings. Developments:

After many years of trying, SUPRS, through the non-stop efforts of Kevin Timmins adds moving wings to all rFactor models and launches SUPRS W v8.0 beta. Drivers are enthusiastic and pleased with the looks and asthetics of the new models. Work then begins to move forward at a feverish pace on new engine files developed by Brad Keysor with the goal of having them ready by the North Carolina Swing.

The Races:

-Zach Sears opens SUPRS 20th year with his first win at the Harvest of Speed. Sears then backs it up the next week with his first win in the prestigious Dion Parish Memorial at Kalamazoo Speedway after coming from eight starting spot to lead all but three laps. Mindy Parish joins the pre-race show on the live broadcast to talk about her father Dion and give words of encouragement to the drivers and fans. On the same night, SUPRS releases the beta version of the SUPRS W v8 mod for rFactor and includes moving top wings for all the cars.

-The grueling North Carolina Swing kicks off a week later and Bob Gangwer is joined by Zach Sears as winners on the first night of racing at Dasera and Orange County. Sears keeps his hot streak going by winning the very next night at Southern National in a great race that had three different leaders, while Brad Keysor leads all but four laps at Concord to bring home the win. Keysor then goes on to claim his second North Carolina Swing Championship in a row by winning the 20th Annual Hickory Hustle.

-Sears then comes back for the last race of October to break Dave Ohh’s stranglehold on the Black Kat Klassic, winning at New Bremen Speedway to kick off the 2023-24 SUPRS Ohio State 500 Series.

November 2023-

Developments:

A brand new tire file is developed by Brad Keysor for rFactor. Featuring five different stagger sizes and three different compounds testing is done offline as well as online to create tires that fall off and will give drivers several different strategic options while also helping to slow speeds.

The tire is done and folded into the SUPRS W v8.0 mod and put to the brutal test at the Wing Side Up Twin 25s at Winchester and The Salem Speedways. It’s a successful test and the full and final mod is released as a package update.

Meanwhile, Nelson Rodrigues is going full-bore on a brand new SUPRS Lee USA Speedway. The Massachusetts native that grew up at the New Hampshire track as well as it’s neighbor in Epping, Star Speedway pushes for perfection. Testing is intense, though sporadic, as Nelson learns along the way.
