Kris Heveron of Florida Wins Lake Havasu Speedway Spring Sizzler presented by Midway Mall Phonezone in Arizona
February 28, 2007 – Lake Havasu, AZ…Jensen Beach Florida’s Kris Heveron didn’t lead many laps but he led the one that counts at Lake Havasu Speedway in Arizona. The event named, The Spring Sizzler 63 presented by Midway Mall Phonezone out of Elyria, Ohio saw twenty-three cars show up.
Heveron stole the show and ripped “Steady” Steve Callahan’s heart apart as the twenty-one year old pilot took control on lap 60 by putting his Billabong #68 to the inside of Callahan heading into turn one. Callahan settled for second on a night that was one for the record books. Joining Callahan and Heveron on the podium was “Crazy” Chris Meyers.
Ironically, Callahan and Meyers claimed heat race wins. Ray Sand Jr. set the new track record just beating out Myles Maxon and Meyers in time trials. Sand suffered motor woes and was forced to take the Peevey’s Auto Body number eighteen to the pits. Maxon increases his lead in the points over Sand due to the misfortune. However, Meyers and Heveron are battling for that third spot.
