Words can't express the sorrow I have for this family. David is supermodified racer AJ Lesiecki's father and passed away on Monday. Today he was buried. I've known the Lesiecki family since 1988 or 89. I first met David's brother Richard at Salem Speedway when we both caught a Bruce Robey flip in turn one. We've been great friends since and I had the pleasure of sitting with Richard, his dad and his son Brian at a good many shows that I wasn't announcing. I first met David when he crewed on Jimmy Shirey's car and was always impressed that he could keep up with Jimmy and Dick Shirey.
I don't remember for sure when I was introduced to Diana, but I do remember how proud David was to call her his wife and how as they grew and raised their family, they were just that, a FAMILY. It always brought a smile to my face.
It's hard to put into words an expression of grief for a family, but if you can find a way to let them know you are thinking of Diana, AJ, and Jonathon you have a couple of options.
You can visit http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/morning.....;fhid=3273 and sign the guestbook or you can make it even more personal by sending a sympathy card the old fashioned way to 329 Indiana Ave Lorain, OH 44052. I know they will appreciate it. Donations for the continuation of AJ and Jonathon's education can be made to the David Lesiecki Son's Educational Fund at any Fifth Third Bank location.
It's sure been a long rough winter of loss in the supermodified community. Let's pull together and see this family though it.
