FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Epping, NH – The fourth and final round of the 350 Supermodified Memorial Series took center stage at Star Speedway on Saturday night, with a strong field of entries on hand for the running of the Jim Belfiore Memorial 40-lap feature event.

Nick Pappadeas bolted out from the pole to set the early pace in his East Derry Collision machine, leading the way for the first 11 laps before yielding the point to Mike Murphy aboard the Barry Coolen-owned ride.

When caution flew for Tommy Tombarello on lap 14, defending champ Dave Helliwell lined up alongside Murphy for the restart in the Witkum Brothers Racing entry, and he quickly made his way past and into the lead when racing resumed.

Jeffrey Battle also made it by Murphy and into the second spot, quickly setting his sights on leader Helliwell. A lap 32 caution for a spin by James Witkum gave Battle the break he needed, as he raced side-by-side with Helliwell on the restart.

Battle inched ahead to be scored as the leader when the caution flew once again, putting him on the pole for the restart with 33 laps in the record books. The sophomore 350 Super pilot was in command from there, leading the balance of the event to score his second feature win of the 2019 season.

Helliwell was next across the stripe in the second spot, with Murphy, Eddie Witkum, Jr., Mike Collins, Bobby Timmons III, Billy Osborne, Rich Eaton, Mike Netishen, and Mike Spurling the rest of the top ten.
