Fundraisers This Weekend for Oswego Speedway Teams

OSWEGO, NY (April 8, 2014) – A total of four Oswego Speedway race team fundraisers are planned for the upcoming weekend, as the Speedway’s opening day of racing inches closer.

Saturday will feature a total of three team fundraisers spread across Oswego, Fulton, and Palermo.

Novelis Supermodified racers, Double Deuce Racing, will hold their Fan Appreciation Party for driver Pat Lavery and the No. 22 team on Saturday at Lighthouse Lanes in Oswego beginning at 1pm.

The fundraiser will include $10 barbeque dinners, lotto boards, raffles, and entertainment as well as the first ever Deuces Wild Bowling Tournament.

In order to participate in the tournament you will need to register with a partner, and then blind draw to form teams of four when the tournament is complete.

There is a $50 entry fee per pair, which includes bowling and two dinners.  Prizes will be awarded.

Dennis Rupert, pilot of the Rupert Racing No. 99 Pathfinder Bank Small Block Super, will hold his annual big money fundraiser at Gorman’s Tavern in Fulton on Saturday at noon.

Rupert’s fundraiser will include $10 chicken dinners featuring a ½ chicken, salt potatoes, coleslaw, and a roll.  Fans can also purchase just a ½ chicken for $6.

The highlight of the annual Rupert Racing fundraiser is no doubt the big money raffle that will again take place.  Tickets for the raffle are $40 a piece, including a free dinner, and only 300 tickets will be sold.

The big money raffle will be drawn at 4pm on Saturday.

The third team fundraiser on Saturday will be for Pathfinder Bank Small Block Super driver Josh Kerr, and his Kerr Racing No. 8 team, to be held at the Driveway Inn in Palermo starting at noon.

Kerr’s fundraiser will provide a steak bake, with $10 pre-sale tickets available by calling (315) 368-5208 or (315) 591-4205.  Fans can also purchase pre-sale tickets at the Driveway Inn.  Tickets will be $11 at the door.

The Kerr Racing fundraiser will also feature 50/50 raffles and a lotto board.

The final fundraiser of the weekend, to be held on Sunday, is for Pathfinder Bank Small Block Super racer Jon Tesoriero and his Four Sevens Motorsports No. 47 team.

The Tesoriero fundraiser will be held at Woodchuck Saloon in Oswego on Sunday and will begin at noon with a steak bake, raffles, prizes, and a 50/50.

On track activity at Oswego Speedway begins Saturday, April 26 with the annual open test session running from 1-5pm.  Spectators can watch team testing from the grandstands for free.

The Road to the Championship for the Pathfinder Bank SBS series will begin on Saturday, May 3 as a part of the 64th annual opening night special at the Speedway presented by Gater Racing News featuring the first round of the Shea Concrete ‘Steel Palace’ ISMA Super Series.

The Novelis Supermodified season takes the green flag on Saturday, May 10 with the 53rd annual Mitchell’s Speedway Press/Planet Fitness ‘Supermodified Kick-Off’ at the Speedway.

Racing on May 3 and May 10 will begin at 6:30pm, with kids 16 and under admitted free of charge as long as they attend with a paid adult.
