Donates Burgers’ Smokehouse Turkey to Injured Driver
November 19, 2019 – Memphis, TN…Brad Keysor managed to hold off a three man pack on a late race restart to win the Supermodified Ultimate Pavement Racing Series, (SUPRS), 15th Annual Turkey Shoot at Memphis Motorsports Park. After taking his first Turkey Shoot win, Keysor promptley donated his first place Burgers’ Smokehouse Thanksgiving turkey award to injured supermodified racer Jeff Russell. Keith Powell edged out his teammate Steve Callahan in a last turn tussle and came home in second. Callahan held back Rob Warren at the line to claim third.
Happy to Help Others
The win was Keysor’s first in this race and going into the night, he was anticipating what it would be like to receive the winner’s spoils. “I told Rob, that he’d better not wreck me if I was leading because I wanted that turkey from Burgers’ Smokehouse.”
After taking the win though, Keysor rethought his stance and unselfishly donated his award to Jeff Russell. “This one is probably the most important race I’ve won and it’s because I’m going to be able to help a family in need,” he said. “So when your doing something for someone else, it really makes the winning worthwhile.”
Time to Be Thankful
The SUPRS racers now take a break from the action to allow members to spend time with their families over the Thanksgiving holiday. After a week off, your favorite supermodified sim racing sanction fires up again on December 3 for the 16th Annual Wing Side Up Twin 25s at Bristol Motor Speedway. Full details are on the SUPRS schedule page.
