OSWEGO, NY (March 31, 2014) – In a continued effort to remain family friendly and honor the countries active service members, Oswego Speedway will once again admit all kids aged 16 & under with a paid adult, and all active military members free of charge to all Speedway racing events in 2014 with the exception of Budweiser International Classic Weekend and Race of Champions Weekend.
The Speedway’s free grandstand admission policy has been in effect since 2011, and is a key component to the track’s weekly racing schedule.
“Family participation at Oswego Speedway is key to our continued growth at the ‘Steel Palace’,” said Dan Kapuscinski, Oswego Speedway Public Relations Director. “Assisting in developing young race fans and helping families to be a part of our racing events is the least we can do. It is our goal to continue to try and develop a young fan following at our track, and of course we salute and value our many active service members that give us the many great freedoms we have, allowing us to bring everyone the amazing sport of short track racing every Saturday night.”
Speedway race fans aged 16 and under are encouraged to join the Speedway’s Entergy/Price Chopper Kids on Track program. Kids on Track signup forms are now available on the Oswego Speedway website atwww.oswegospeedway.com. Those interested in membership need to fill out their membership form and bring it to the Speedway office during the week or return it to the Speedway novelty stand on race nights.
The program is once again free for the 2014 season and will again include benefits such as weekly giveaways and prizes as well as track tours and other special promotions.

On track activity beings at Oswego Speedway on Saturday, April 26 with the annual open test session for all racing divisions. Testing will run from 1-5pm on April 26 and is free for spectators to sit in the main grandstand.
Racing action at the Speedway begins on Saturday, May 3 with the 64th annual Gater Racing News Opening Night featuring the Shea Concrete ‘Steel Palace’ ISMA Super Series ‘Irish’ Jack Murphy Memorial 56 and the opening round of the Pathfinder Bank SBS Road to the Championship.
The Speedway’s flagship non-wing Novelis Supermodified division will kick-off their 53rd consecutive season of racing at the Home of Supermodifieds on Saturday, May 10th presented by Mitchell’s Speedway Press and Planet Fitness of Oswego. Nearly 30 Novelis Supermodifieds are expected in be in action including defending champion Otto Sitterly and Indianapolis 500 veterans Joe Gosek and Davey Hamilton.
