May 11, 2015 – Oswego, NY…After a long night of thrills and spills, Stan Stinson picked up his first ever career feature with Xtreme Short Track Sim Racing while Art Palmer picked up the win in the second 35 lap feature, scoring valuable points for the Xtreme SUPRS Challenge Championship.

A fast field of 24 online sim supermodified racers signed in for XSTSR Mid-Season Championship night and races two and three of the Xtreme SUPRS Challenge Championship. The competitiveness and short amount of laps for the feature led to some intense moments on the JCR version of Oswego Speedway throughout the night.

Stan Stinson took advantage of his pole starting place to dominate the first race over Dave Soja and Tyler Perry with the top three finishers coming from the first two rows.

In the second feature, Art Palmer Jr. climbed from eighth starting position and took advantage of a late race bobble by Chris Meyers to take the win and continue his torrid hot streak in online supermodified sim racing having now claimed his fourth win in a row. Brian Strickland and Meyers rounded out the podium.

There is now a three-way tie for first place in the Xtreme SUPRS Challenge Championship with Art Palmer, Jr. moving one spot to the top. Palmer, Jr. is tied with Brian Strickland, who maintained his P2 position from race one, and Chris Meyers, who jumped a five positions. According to rules, technically Palmer, with his win sits first since all ties will be broken by highest finish, then the amount of highest finishes. Even so it’s anyone’s Championship to win as just over 20 points separate first from tenth place in the standings.

Tim Blank, who had carried the XSCC points lead into the night, and was a favorite to win, struggled mightily and was the victim of several on-track incidents causing him to lose the point lead. He dropped to 10th place, but is still only 21 points out of his old home on top of the standings.

Earlier in the night, Tyler Perry, Dave Soja, and Stan Stinson won qualifying heat races.

The next Xtreme SUPRS Challenge Championship will take place on July 27-28 with the running of the 8th Annual SUPRS Mr. Online Supermodified event. This year drivers will compete in wing and non-wing supermodifieds over the course of two days to decide who truly deserves to be called Mr. Online Supermodified. The wing race will take place on the XSTSR race server while the non-wing show will be run on the SUPRS race server. Both races are part of SUPRS inaugural season of rFactor racing and will pay points towards the SUPRS Gold Crest Non-Wing Championship.

A complete roster, race results, schedule and rules for the Xtreme SUPRS Challenge Championship are posted on the SUPRS website.
