All divisions competing  in 2016 are eligible to take part in the four-hour long test session, which will see pit gates open at 11:30 a.m.

Last year over 40 race cars took to the track for testing, and another healthy contingent is expected this weekend with promising weather in the forecast, and a number of redesigned chassis in the waiting.

The  Tiki Bar will be open during testing featuring beverages as well as snack items, including Hofmann’s hot dogs.

Last year’s testing saw the Novelis Supermodified of Dave Danzer and the Pathfinder Bank SBS of Mike Bond lead speeds.

Danzer stopped the clocks at 16.509 seconds, just beating out championship rival Otto Sitterly’s lap of 16.563 seconds.

Bond circled ran a quick lap of 18.679 seconds in 2015, topping 2012 series champion Kreig Heroth who stopped the clocks at 18.872 seconds.

Among those expected to be at the track this weekend are ISMA Supermodified competitor Alison Cumens in the No. 39 machine as well as last year’s quick timers Danzer, Sitterly, Bond, and Heroth.

Pit admission for Saturday’s session will be set at $25.  Season pit passes will be accepted for the open practice.

Kids 16 and under will again be admitted free at all events in 2016 except the Budweiser International Classic Weekend and Race of Champions Weekend.

Racing action  begins on Saturday, May 14 featuring the 66th consecutive opening night presented by Mitchell’s Speedway Press and highlighted by the Race of Champions Modified Richie Evans Memorial 61 as well as kick-off events for the Novelis Supermodifieds and Pathfinder Bank SBS.
