Last weekends 42nd Annual Hy-Miler Supermodified Nationals was expanded to four days of racing with something for everyone.
The Sandusky Speedway Karting Series opened the events last Wed. and was well received. Thursdays one dollar Fan Appreciation Night drew over 2,000 fans.
On Fri. the ISMA Supermodifieds and Modifieds were the main attraction. Doug Meyer was the man to beat in the Modifieds as he won Friday and Saturday nights feature races.
Jim Paller won his first ISMA feature race by taking Friday nights “Fast 40.” Paller started outside pole and led all 40 laps. On Saturday night Dave Shullick Jr. won his fourth Hy-Miler, leading 83 of the 100 laps.

Former Nationals Winner Passes
Gus Olexen, the winner of the 1982 Hy-Miler Supermodified Nationals passed away on Sunday July 28. Condolences to his family.
