Ohh Dominates Inaugural rFactor Race at Pantucky

Share SUPRS:

July 16, 2019 – Pantucky, PA…Dave Ohh, of Union, CT,  made winning the inaugural rFactor, Supermodified Ultimate Pavement Racing Series, (SUPRS), 45 lap feature event Tuesday night at SUPRS Pantucky Speedway look easy. He beat the field by nearly six seconds. It was the first SUPRS Gold Crest Championship points event at the track since 2011, but the TMS Wolfpack sponsored racer left little doubt of his ability to quickly figure out even tricky, new venues by leading the most laps, and setting the fastest lap of the feature en route to his third feature win of the summer season.

Happy to Take Lead

Ohh was happy to take the lead on lap 17 when Brad Keysor, the pole-sitter and leader came out of turn two and spun into the infield. Rob Warren came home in second place after an early race spin relegated him to the tail, and Bob Gangwer finished in third.

Bivens Makes rFactor Debut

Only one other caution besides the one for Warren’s spin out slowed the pace. Jeff Bivens of Fort Mills, SC, making his first SUPRS rFactor feature start, hit the turn one wall hard. Bivens, who had been racing hard with Carl Becker, knocked the nose wing off the car and sustained other substantial damage. The HeatFinder regular took his car to the pits for the night, but vowed to return for more at the next SUPRS race.

Entertaining for First Time at Track in Seven Years

For the first time at the newly released track, the action proved to be very entertaining and close as the drivers tried to figure out a way around the flat 3/8 with paper clip corners. For the better part of the second half of the race, a fantastic tussle between Warren, Gangwer and Keith Powell developed behind the leader.

The three SUPRS veterans were working each other hard to find a way around the other as they showed great skill running nerf bar to nerf bar, with increasingly worn out tires and brakes, without ever touching.

Summer Vacation

SUPRS goes on Summer Break beginning July 19 through the 27 to allow members time to go to Sandusky Speedway for some real supermodified racing at the International Supermodified Association Hy-Miler Supermodified Nationals.

Mr. Online Supermodified July 30-31

The next SUPRS race is the 12th Annual Mr. Online Supermodified two-day event July 30-31, 2019.

Featuring wing and non-wing rFactor supermodified sim racing, this competition among the “SUPRSheroes” is a true challenge adding up points from time trials, heat races and two 50 lap features over the course of the two days to determine who becomes the 2019 Mr. Online Supermodified.
