Dave Ohh Decimates the Field to Win SUPRS 19th Anniversary Special by Two Laps
November 1, 2022 – Deptford, NJ…The Supermodified Ultimate Pavement Racing Series, (SUPRS), celebrated its 19th Anniversary of supermodified sim racing on Tuesday, and at the end of the 75 lap feature at SUPRS Twisted Metal Raceway, Dave “SpeedyMan” Ohh had dusted the field on the way to winning by two laps over second place finisher Anthony Corsoniti. Ryan Cloonan came home third, also two laps down. Both Corsoniti and Cloonan started near the last row after the field was lined up by the original SUPRS join date of each member, with Corsoniti claiming 10 bonus points for the SUPRSCharger award.
Fun Night By All
Just about every driver spoke about the fun they had on SUPRS Anniversary Night. Dave Ohh, even though, unlike most of the other drivers, had raced and won at Twisted Metal Raceway before, said that it was a whole different ball-game with the supermodified and that he really enjoyed the track and hoped for it to be on the schedule again next year. Albeit at 300 laps not 75.
Veteran SUPRS racers and teammates Carl Becker and Gary Waldron both enjoyed their time back behind the wheel of their old NHSM supers with Becker saying “I had a smile on my face since about lap three. I had fun tonight.” Waldron agreed stating that while his car wasn’t perfect, he “enjoyed the race, and the track.”
Paying Tribute to Veterans
The SUPRS racers move to New River Valley Speedway next week to honor the men and women of the United States Armed Forces veterans, with the Veterans Day Special on Tuesday, November 8. The NASCAR Heat supermodified sim racing event gets underway with Hot Laps at 8:00pm on the high-banked 1/2 mile in Radford, VA. Racing starts at 8:20 with the Fast Car Dash.
