Dave Ohh Takes Billy Vukovich III Classic for Second Year in a Row
April 14, 2020 – Mesa Marin, CA…Dave Ohh of Union, CT has won his second Supermodified Ultimate Pavement Racing Series, (SUPRS), Billy Vukovich III Classic presented by Supermodified Scorecard and has joined Steve Callahan as a back to back winner of this prestigious event. Former winners Keith Powell and Bob Gangwer finished second and third in the 12 car field.
A Little Easier Than First Win
“This year was a little easier because we got strung out a little sooner which surprised me,” said the winner. “Still, everyone is pretty close here on speed and we had a pretty good battle at the beginning with Bob and Keith, so it was another good race.”
“I’ve got to thank SUPRS for all they do, 1st to Finish Race servers, Icings on Top, BreezeGraphics.com, Hairbag Studios, the TMS Wolfpack and SUPRS for hosting these events and having us HeatFinder and Mod Squad guys over to race.”
The Union, CT resident now has eight straight SUPRS feature wins and the bounty is now up to 25 points for any driver that can beat him. They’ll have their next chance at the Golden State Classic at Buckley Speedway on April 21.
Race Notes
The race had four former winners in competition with all of them finishing in the top five. Five drivers made their first start in this years race, while two of those, Bryan Erdely of PA and Brian Azcuenaga of CO took their very first SUPRS green flag.
