Quick Results: SpeedyMan Back to Back at Black Kat Klassic

Share SUPRS:

October 26, 2021 – Myrtle Beach, SC…Dave “SpeedyMan” Ohh of Union, CT, was able to foil the feisty feline at the Supermodified Ultimate Pavement Racing Series, (SUPRS), Black Kat Klassic Tuesday at Myrtle Beach Speedway to another claw mark into the win column. Ohh now has back to back wins in the Black Kat Klassic, and his fourth straight of the season. Ohh bested a fast field of 15 starters. Brad Keysor was .222 seconds back in second, and Ryan Cloonan flirted with disaster lap after lap but was able to hang onto his ill-handling car to finish third. Rob Warren and Anthony Corsoniti completed the top five.

Once again, several drivers felt the wrath of bad luck when the Black Kat crossed their paths. Three were victims before five laps were complete, and two more were struck by the prowling panther before the race was done.

The top four had a race to themselves, but behind them, fifth through ninth were thick as thieves for most of the race, with just 7/10ths of a second separating P5-P8 when the checkered flag flew.

In time trials, Brad Keysor lowered the one year old track record by a tenth to 15.361. Ohh was also under his former record and was second quick. Ryan Cloonan won the Crack the Whip race which put him on the pole for the feature. The 10 lap heat race was won by Greg Breen.

Next Race

Next week, on November 2, SUPRS celebrates the 18th Anniversary of it’s first sanctioned race.

The oldest supermodified sim racing sanction plans to remember their past with a NASCAR Heat race using the first mod built in-house for SUPRS called “NHSM”, (NASCAR Heat SuperModified), and will run at Camp Creek Speedway, a track that was built by SUPRS original track designer Doug “Flash” Forgue and updated in 2009 for SUPRS. The last time SUPRS raced at Camp Creek was, in fact, 2009, where Derrick Backus won his very first SUPRS feature race while competing in the Silver Crest Division.

Things get going a little later than normal with practice starting at 8:30pm. It will be a quick night with no Time Trials or Heat Races, and a Feature race that will use special format.

The drivers will line up based on their original SUPRS join date, with the driver having been a SUPRS member the longest to start on the pole of the 75 lap feature. It’s SUPRS way of paying respect to the great core of members that have been with SUPRS for a long time.

Fans can watch the SUPRS 18th Anniversary Special after they vote and the polls are closed on SUPRS LIVE! @ 9pm ET.
