Server Issues Shut IRP Down
Clermont, IN– July 15, 2014….They say the third time is a charm, but five tries wasn’t enough Tuesday night for the Supermodified Ultimate Pavement Racing Series. After multiple attempts to fix a server issue, league directors decided to postpone the second night of the inaugural Indiana Supermod Week.
SUPRS was set to run the second of a three race swing of action at Indianapolis Raceway Park, but with nine drivers signed in and ready to go, league officials determined that there was simply too much warp and didn’t want technical issues to be the cause of a bad night for the racers.
Ray Sand, Jr. holds a slight six point lead over current SUPRS Gold Crest Non-Wing Championship point leader Myles Maxon and was looking forward to running at IRP where he is a multi-time winner. He said, “I don’t feel that it would be fair to everyone to run tonight, but I hope that it doesn’t go tomorrow, because I may not make it since I could be a dad again any day.”
Sand, Jr. won the opening salvo of Indiana Supermod Week at Salem Speedway in an exciting battle amongst the top four that saw Sand, Jr., Rob Warren, Myles Maxon, and Steve Callahan swap positions in a wheel to wheel, nerf bar to nerf bar contest of 50 laps.
SUPRS will give it all another shot Wednesday night when they will attempt to get the the postponed IRP 50 lap feature and a 75 lap show at LaPorte in on the same night. Practice begins at 8:00 pm.
