He may have been away for a while, but Myles Maxon proved he’s back in a big way by taking the win in the Ground Pounder 75 modified race at Mesa Marin Speedway to kick off SUPRS 9th Annual SUPRS Season Summit 125 Week.
After a torrid battle with “Steady” Steve Callahan, the race came down to lapped traffic and Callahan came up short when Maxon was able to get by on lap 59.
Maxon said in victory lane that patience was the key to the win over Callahan. “I just tried to keep the car clean running behind Steve and waited for the opportunity to make a clean pass, but he was really fast so I couldn’t get a clear run on him,” he began. “Once we hit lapped traffic I could tell he was having some problems getting around them and that was my chance so I just took it.”
