August 5, 2020 – Goshen, IN…Registration for the the Supermodified Ultimate Pavement Racing Series, (SUPRS), 2020 “Rising Star” supermodified sim race at Oswego Speedway is open, but is ending soon.
This one of a kind event for non-wing supermodified sim racing is open only to invited SUPRS Members that have never won a feature event at Oswego Speedway in a non-wing supermodified. The drivers must have also made a starting attempt in at least three SUPRS non-wing supermodified features during their career.
Impressive List of Eligible Drivers
The list of eligible drivers for the 2020 Rising Star 50 is the largest since 2015, and is filled with a mix of long-time SUPRS members and rookie drivers. It’s a deep pool of talent that includes 2019-20 Gold Crest Wing Supermodified Icings on Top Rookie of the Year Zach Sears and 2016-17 Gold Crest Wing Supermodified Icings on Top Rookie of the Year, Nelson Rodrigues.
Joining Rodrigues and Sears are a fine group of four drivers that are trying to become the 2020 Non-Wing Supermodified RoY.
Current high-point man is among those rookies is Erich Becker of Shelby Township, MI. Becker has a best finish this season of fifth and has nine top tens. Bobby Hayduk, Dick Schuler and Danny Ray have all improved this season and could be a threat to win.
A regular on the ARL tour, Jeff “Grumpy” Bivens has recently upgraded his racing rig and has found some speed where it was previously lacking in his rFactor supermodified. Real supermodified racer Matt Germain has been MIA in SUPRS action since the wing season but is also one of the eligible drivers.

Drivers that names are the list above have until Sunday August 9 at midnight to RSVP. Four have already done so.
The race will feature a random draw for starting position making it all the more intriguing and the winner becomes a guaranteed starter for the 16th Annual Topless! 200.
