RT 93 Raceway Win to Sand, Jr.

Slusser, PA – March 11, 2014… Ray Sand, Jr. came from sixth starting position to take the lead with 11 laps to go en route to winning the 50 lap feature at RT 93 Raceway on Tuesday. The race was the second of three in the SUPRS Keystone Nationals swing and Sand, Jr. was joined on the podium by Rob Warren in second and Bob Gangwer who finished third.

Sand, Jr. has now surpassed John Davidson as the driver with the most feature wins in Supermodified Ultimate Pavement Racing Series history and virtually sealed his quest for an unprecedented ninth SUPRS Gold Crest Division Championship.

Ray Sand, Jr. makes his move for the lead under Rob Warren(35) at RT 93 Raceway. Sand, Jr. went on to take the win.

Sand, Jr. was able to make a move low in turn two on the thirty-ninth circuit to get under Warren who had led from the drop of the green flag from his pole starting position. The two then raced side by side down the backstretch with Warren relinquishing his lead as they came out of turn three.

The 2014 edition of SUPRS Keystone Nationals comes to a completion with the 10th Annual Randy Witkum Memorial at Jennerstown Speedway on Wednesday March 12. Rob Warren is the defending race winner and has won the prestigious event the last two years in a row.
