SUPRS Thanksgiving BreakAugust 19, 2009 – Oswego, NY…“Steady” Steve Callahan won his heat race then claimed the win in the final regular 2009 SUPRS Gold Crest Non-Wing Supermodified Championship season race. Callahan, who hails from Ohio, narrowly beat 2006 non-wing supermodified champion John Davidson(CA), and third place finisher Ray Sand, Jr.(NY). Five different states were represented in the top five that was rounded out by Gary Waldron, (MI), and two-time and defending non-wing SUPRS champ, Kris Heveron(FL).
Next week, SUPRS 5th Anniversary Season comes to a close with the 5th Annual Topless! 200 Week. The Rising Star 50 for drivers that have never won a feature race and SUPRSNationals wing supermodified event kicks things off on Monday. Then the SUPRS Modified 200 is on Tuesday with the season ending 5th Annual Beachland Cleaning Services Topless! 200 on Wednesday at Oswego Speedway.
