The 14 race non-wing supermodified sim racing schedule will feature races using an updated version of the SUPRS non-wing supermodified rFactor mod with all but one of the races to be held at an updated version of SUPRS Oswego Speedway.
True to the SUPRS Mission Statement of supporting real supermodified racing while educating sim racers about the supermodified division, and the drivers, teams and tracks that run them, the updated SUPRS NW V1.2 mod will, (as all SUPRS mods since 2004 have), contains skins that replicate the paint jobs of many real supermodified racers. These will include the top ten from 2015 point standings at Oswego Speedway as well as several Oswego Speedway supermodified legends like Bentley Warren, Chuck Ciprich, and Warren Coniam.
One of the more special features of the new version of SUPRS Oswego Speedway online, is a tip of the hat to the men that help keep real supermodified racers safe. Corner flagman, just like the real track uses, are near each inside caution light, and working outside caution lights have been added. SUPRS has dedicated SUPRS Oswego Speedway V1.2 to the Oswego Speedway Safety Crew in appreciation for all the lives saved throughout the years by the best short track safety crew in the country.
A Very Busy June
The 12th season of SUPRS non-wing supermodified sim racing kicks off on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 with the running of the Port City 75 at Oswego Speedway. The next week on June 7 will be the running of the 11th Annual Jim Shampine Memorial 80 to honor the “father of the modern supermodified.”
Shampine tops the list of All-Time Winners at Oswego Speedway with 87 feature victories, was a 7-time track champion, won the prestigious International Classic 200 three times. This race is the first of two ‘guaranteed starter” races for the season ending Topless! 200.
On June 14, the “Flag Day 45” takes place where the winner will receive a free American flag. The very next week the 1st to Finish Race Servers “Irregular 45” will take place. This race will have heats, consolation races, a semi-feature and feature as a tip of the hat to the challenging formats that made a win at the real Oswego Speedway so coveted during the tracks formative years.
Terrific Twins
After a lack of races last year towards the end of June and first of July, a challenging two weeks of Twin 35 features will awaits the supermodified sim racing drivers with the double-points Mid-Season Championship Twin 35s on June 28, followed by the Independence Day Twin 35s to kick off July on the fifth.
A regular 45 lap feature on July 12 is followed by an event to be held at a different venue other than Oswego Speedway. Several options are open at this time and it is expected that a firm date will be announced by the start of the season.
SUPRS will take its annual break from online supermodified sim racing for the popular International Supermodified Association Hy-Miler Supermodified Nationals at Sandusky Speedway. This race is part of the real supermodified “Triple Crown” and many SUPRS members will be in attendance on July 28-30.
After the Break
When the racers come back they’ll vie for the 9th Annual Mr. Online Supermodified title.
The race returns to a single 75 lap feature for the non-wing supermodifieds with time trials, heats, and the feature. One driver will emerge as the 2016 Mr. Online Supermodified champion and gain valuable bonus points towards his overall championship run. Last year Rob Warren used this race and the extra points to push him towards his 2015 SUPRS Gold Crest Non-Wing Championship title.
The summer heat continues on August 9 at the “Home of the Supermodifieds” with the running of the 12th Annual “The Whistler” Pete Trenca Memorial 60. This race pays tribute to Peter “Program” Trenca and the winner will receive a membership to the Eagles Fan Club at Oswego Speedway. The Eagles Fan Club is an organization that supports supermodified racing at Oswego Speedway and one that Trenca helped start. Like the Shampine Memorial this race is also a ‘guaranteed starter” race.

The SUPRSNationals 50 returns this year as well and the racers will strap on the wing to go for the win in the 50 lap SUPRSNationals race that will bring an end to the 2015-16 Empire State Supermodified Series regional tour.
