January 2, 2023 – Goshen, IN…The Supermodified Ultimate Pavement Racing Series, (SUPRS), is back from a two week break for the holidays and the wildest, wackiest race of the new year is next with 19th Annual Crazy Canuck Snowball Derby on January 4, 2023 at Delaware Speedway in Ontario, Canada.
Two-Man Team Format
After time trials, the SUPRS racers will pair up into two-man teams. From that point on, not only will they have to be concerned with their personal best, they’ll also have to work together as they try to be the team that gains the most points for the night. Every time each team member hits the track they’ll pick up points that add towards their team total. The team with the most points when the checkered flag falls is declared the Snowball Derby Challenge Champions.
Heats and Pursuit Add to Wackiness
After the teams are set, all the drivers will have to run a heat race. They’ll have to hustle to get into the top three places if they want to be eligible for the “Canadian Pursuit,” a special six lap race to set the first three rows of the feature race. All of the eligible drivers line up single file and once the green flag drops, if a driver gets passed he’s out of the race. The longer he can stay on the track without being passed, the better starting spot he’ll have in the 50 lap feature.
