1st to Finish Docks & Hoists Becomes Presenting Sponsor of  SUPRS Gold Crest Non-Wing Championship Schedule

May 26, 2015 – Goshen, IN…The Supermodified Ultimate Pavement Racing Series, (SUPRS),  is set to begin a new chapter in their 11 year history with the release of the 2015 Gold Crest Season Championship Schedule which will be their first season of using the rFactor online sim racing platform.

Adding to the excitement of the season schedule being released, SUPRS will have a series sponsor for the first time in it’s 11 year history with 1st to Finish Docks & Hoists of Pulaski, NY.

Rob Warren, a SUPRS member and long-time supermodified fan owns 1st to Finish Docks & Hoists Service, a company specializing in the installation and removal of boat docks and hoists along the shores of Lake Ontario. This sponsorship will allow SUPRS to present special race awards to members throughout the season and the season champion will win tickets to the grandaddy of all real supermodified races, the International Classic 200 held at Oswego Speedway.

“It’s my pleasure to begin sponsorship with SUPRS on a bigger basis than in years past,” began Warren. “As a long-time member, and steadfast believer of the SUPRS Mission Statement, I am looking forward to the upcoming Non-Wing racing season.”

“1st to Finish Docks & Hoists is ready to help the premier online supermodified sanctioning body bring more awareness to their cause and we are going to use our resources to hand out awards, trophies, tee shirts and more this season,” he said.

Warren’s commitment to SUPRS comes not only from the financial side of things through his business, but also from the technical aspects of keeping a race server running as well as helping members troubleshoot game installations and computer problems.

SUPRS rFactor house car

SUPRS racers will be competing in cars like this when they take to the track on June 2 for the first ever SUPRS rFactor sanctioned race.

The 11 race non-wing supermodified schedule will feature races using the brand-new non-wing supermodified rFactor mod and SUPRS Oswego Speedway V1 for rFactor. Both were designed by Doug “Flash” Forgue, have been in the works since 2008, and pay tribute to the real world “Home of the Supermodifieds” Oswego Speedway. The mod allows members to choose either a Hawk Jr. or Xtreme chassis, and a paint job of their choice. They will also be able to set their car up to their liking which adds a new element to SUPRS online racing.

Fans of online sim racing and SUPRS will be able to follow along with their favorite SUPRS racers via the brand new SUPRS LIVE Timing and Scoring page which shows instantaneous position changes, lap times, penalties and race status. Throughout the season, anytime there is racing on the SUPRS race server, fans will also be able to quickly check up on how things are going by watching the scrolling ticker throughout the site. If they can’t make it to SUPRS.net for the live action, they can always catch up with the SUPRS Results page showing every race of the season in complete detail.

New for the 2015 SUPRS Gold Crest Schedule is a Live Timing and Scoring Page

It all kicks off June 2, 2015 with the running of the Port City 75 at Oswego Speedway. The next week on June 9 will be the running of the 10th Annual Jim Shampine Memorial 80 on June 9,  also at Oswego Speedway, and the first of three ‘guaranteed starter” races for the season ending Topless! 200. The Xtreme Short Track Sim Racing Series, (XSTSR),  will join the card on the June 9 for the Richie Evans Memorial Modified 100.

On June 16, there will be a regular 45 lap race and then the next week the 1st to Finish Docks & Hoists “Irregular 45” will take place. This race will have heats, consolation races, a semi-feature and feature as a tip of the hat to the challenging formats that made a win at the real Oswego Speedway so coveted in the tracks formative years.

Unlike last year, there won’t be a lot of races at the end of June or through July as SUPRS takes a break to focus on real supermodified racing starting on June 26-27 with the International Supermodified Association Lorain County Speedway “Summercade.” A large gathering for online supermodified racers is being planned and SUPRS hopes to be able to use this special event to raise money for the Dion Parish Memorial Benevolent Fund for Supermodifieds. Then the first week of July, SUPRS continues its break to allow members to celebrate the birth of the United States of America as well as attend the open competition supermodified race to be held at Rocky Mountain Raceways in Salt Lake, UT over the Fourth of July.

When SUPRS returns to action on the fourteenth of July, it will be for the Mid-Season Championship Twin 35s which will feature double points. Another quick break for the Hy-Miler Supermodified Nationals at Sandusky Speedway takes place on July 21, but when the racers come back, they’ll vie for the 8th Annual Mr. Online Supermodified title.

This year the race will be a part of the Xtreme SUPRS Challenge Championship contested over the course of two days. The first night will feature wing online supermodifieds racing for 75 laps at Oswego on the Xtreme Short Track Sim Racing, (XSTSR),  Server. On the following night, the drivers will hop into their non-wing online supermodifieds and will take to the track for another 75 lap feature. Points for the two races will be added together with one driver emerging as the 2015 Mr. Online Supermodified champion.

SUPRS rolls into the dog days of summer on August 4 at Oswego Speedway with a regular 45, then returns to the “Home of the Supermodifieds” for the running of the 11th Annual “The Whistler” Pete Trenca Memorial 60 to pay tribute to Peter “Program” Trenca. Like the Shampine Memorial this race is also a ‘guaranteed starter” race.

To close out the 11th Anniversary Season of SUPRS non-wing racing, Topless! 200 week begins on Monday, August 17 with XSTSR Modified 200 at Oswego Speedway and the SUPRSNationals 50 where the racers will  strap on the wing to go for the win in the 50 lap SUPRSNationals race using the JCR/Gott mod.

On Tuesday, August 18,  the Rising Star 50 for drivers that have never won a SUPRS feature happens with the winner becoming a guaranteed starter for the 11th Annual Topless! 200. On the same night, the racers will run for the pole of the 11th Annual Topless! 200 where only the drivers with the top two times will be locked into the race.

Then on Wednesday, August 19, it’s time to go Topless! as the rest of the field will be set for the 200 lap grind through the heat races and B-Main and one racer will be named the 11th Annual Topless! 200 champion. This race is also the last leg of the six-race Xtreme SUPRS Challenge Championship.

The Supermodified Ultimate Racing Series was started in 2004 by supermodified race fans John Davidson and Bob Gangwer as a way to enjoy online racing with their favorite form of motorsport; the supermodified division.

The two quickly realized that there were many opportunities available with the online racing platform that would give them a way to give back to the teams, tracks, sponsors and fans of the division. With this thought in mind, and using a suggestion from a fellow member, SFJ and Bobby G.,(as Davidson and Gangwer are known ), the league went to donations to play” format soon after the formation of the league.

By asking members to donate to the newly created Dion Parish Memorial Benevolent Fund for Supermodifieds to compete with the league, SUPRS quickly accumulated funds that allowed the league to donate cash to injured drivers and their families when they needed it the most.

SUPRS has continued to grow using this, until then, unheard of model and will end its eleventh anniversary season of online racing after the 2015 Topless! 200.
