October 18, 2018 – Goshen, IN…It’s with the utmost sadness that we regret to have to tell our members and fans that former member, SUPRS benefactor, and friend to many, Tom Heveron has passed away.
To all of Tom’s family including his nephew and 2-Time SUPRS Champion Kris and supermodified Hall of Fame Member, former SUPRS winner, and brother Doug, we offer our deepest condolences and will continue to pray for comfort in this sad time.
Tom’s constant pushing to make SUPRS better and more ‘business’ like through the early part of our existence is part of the reason we have lasted 15 years. His fierce competitiveness on the supermodified sim racing track was topped only by his ability to give guidance and suggest changes to make this sanction better. His endless support of our mission to help others, is a direct reflection of his own wish to help those in need.
For many years Tom was a sponsor of the Topless! 200 presented by Beachland Cleaning Services. Through that sponsorship, he helped raise awareness of Cleaning for a Reason, a service that provides free home cleaning for women going through cancer treatment.
We’re sharing this photo of Tom from his 50th birthday that he sent us that year. It’s been up in our SUPRS Family gallery since he first sent it and it’s a wonderful reminder of this man who gave so much to help others, but still knew how to smile.
Rest in Peace “Tiger” Tom.
