12th SUPRS Online Supermodified Schedule Starts October 20
October 16, 2015 – Goshen, IN…The Supermodified Ultimate Pavement Racing Series, (SUPRS), has officially released the Gold Crest Wing Supermodified Championship schedule, and there’s some new twists added along with many familiar dates.
One glance at the new SUPRS schedule and one will quickly realize that online sim supermodified racers will have their work cut out for them as they battle for the championship over the course of 42 races using both NASCAR Heat and rFactor platforms. The online racing will be contested across 16 states and Canada and while focusing on wing supermodifieds, drivers will also have a chance to shine in select dates that also include non-wing sim supermodifieds and new tracks.
The SUPRS stars will kick off the new season October 20, 2015 with the “12th Annual Harvest of Speed 75″ at LaPorte Speedway. This race is part of the season long “Indyana Supermod Challenge Series” which features winged and non-wing supermodifieds vying for regional and season points on the same night at tracks located throughout the state of Indiana.
Defending SUPRS Gold Crest Wing Supermodified Champion, Myles Maxon is one of only two drivers with multiple Harvest of Speed wins. Maxon has a record four wins including last year, while 6-time SUPRS Gold Crest Wing Supermodified Champion, Ray Sand, Jr. has two.
Last year Maxon had a stellar season, winning 13 times and taking the championship by 212 points over second place points finisher Steve Callahan. Callahan also had a good season winning nine times and claiming the SUPRS All-Star Classic 200, SUPRS Copper World Classic and Empire State Super Series Championships. Callahan was also the 2014-15 Wing Mid-Season Champion.
The Black Kat Klassic 50″ at Decatur Speedway in Illinois, where Maxon won last year as well, will close out the month of October.
SUPRS racers will head to the Tar Heel State for the incredibly challenging 12th Annual North Carolina Swing the first week of November where they will compete at five tracks over the course of three days. “Mighty” Myles Maxon is the defending North Carolina Swing Champion and won his third NC Swing crown last year.
While the first several dates feature the tried and true NASCAR Heat platform that SUPRS has used since it’s inception in 2004, the racers will have to switch gears and platforms for the next four dates in a row. For the first time ever, the SUPRS rFactor NW V1 mod, will be used to contest the Veterans Day Special at new venue Music City Speedway on 11/10, the 12th Annual Turkey Shoot on 11/17, (where the winner will be awarded a Burgers’ Smokehouse Turkey), the 12th Annual Wing Side Up Twin 25s on 12/1 and the 12th Annual Dion Parish Memorial on 12/8.
The SUPRS NW V1 mod for rFactor was released in May of 2015 and after an inaugural season that had 8 different winners in 10 races and saw Chris Meyers winning a caution free Topless! 200 and Rob Warren winning his first SUPRS Gold Crest Non-Wing Championship; the decision was made to push the envelope a little further and use the mod at different tracks, while keeping the traditional dates that members and fans have come to enjoy.
The league will switch back to the NASCAR Heat SUPRS V6 wing supermodified to close out the year at the Christmas Special at Bracket Hill Raceway where the winner will receive a Burgers’ Smokehouse Ham delivered to their doorstep in time for Christmas Dinner.
As the for the rest of the seven month-long season, members will find a very aggressive schedule that includes the always interesting Crazy Canuck Snowball Derby at Cayuga Speedway, an Empire State Super Series race, and the double points Mid-Season Championship Twin 35s at Oswego Speedway all in January. There will be a full Florida Speedweeks in February, and Keystone Nationals featuring the 12th Annual Randy Witkum Memorial in March.

The well-liked Ground Hog Day Derby will kick off February and will be another race that features the SUPRS NW V1 mod running rFactor. Moving out of Maine for the first time since it’s start, the race will be run at Myrtle Beach Speedway using the rFactor platform.
Two dates on the schedule that will be especially challenging this year are the SUPRS Copper World Classic XI presented by Kern Motorsports, held at Phoenix International Raceway in March, and the Indyana Supermod Challenge presented by WAGS Custom & Cool Awards at Indianapolis Raceway Park in April. These race dates will use both the NASCAR Heat and rFactor platforms on the same night and bonus points will be awarded to the driver at each event that can garner the best finishes using both wing and non-wing sim supermodified cars.

Of course the SUPRS “Triple-Crown” wouldn’t be complete without the SUPRS All-Star Classic that takes place in April. This race, like many of the others on the schedule, help to remind members and fans that the Supermodified Ultimate Pavement Racing Series supports real supermodified racing by bringing awareness of real supermodified tracks and events.
Long-standing events such as the Presidents Day Special, St. Patrick’s Day Grab O’ the Green, and Xtreme Tuesday are all on the schedule once again as well as the Tax Day Double-Trouble Twins at Colorado National Speedway.
SUPRS will continue to honor supermodified racers lost in competition with the Dion Parish Memorial 62 in December, the Terry Gibson Memorial 100 in January, the Billy Vukovich III Classic 100 in February, and the aforementioned Randy Witkum Memorial 125 in March. Theses races all carry a guaranteed starter bonus for the winner that can be used at the season ending Summit Classic 125 at Madera Speedway in April.

About SUPRS:
The Supermodified Ultimate Racing Series started in 2004 when supermodified race fans John Davidson and Bob Gangwer started to enjoy online racing with their favorite form of motor-sport, the supermodified division.
The team quickly realized that there were many opportunities available with the online racing platform that would give them a way to give back to the teams, tracks, sponsors and fans of the division. With this thought in mind, and using a suggestion from a member, the league went to a donation to play” format soon after its formation.
By asking members to donate to the newly created Dion Parish Memorial Benevolent Fund for Supermodifieds, SUPRS quickly accumulated funds that allowed the league to donate cash to injured drivers and their families when they needed it the most.
SUPRS has continued to grow using this, until then, unheard of model, and is now in its twelfth season of sim racing and is one of the longest continuously operating online racing leagues in history.
