All-Star Classic 200 is First Race of SUPRS Triple Crown of Supermodified Sim Racing

April 8, 2018 – Manchester, NH…The Supermodified Ultimate Pavement Racing Series, (SUPRS), kicks off the prestigious Supermodified Sim Racing Triple Crown with the 8th Annual SUPRS All-Star Classic 200 April 10, 2018 at the famed Star Speedway in Epping, NH

Hey now you’re an All-Star…as long as you use BreezeGraphics.com like SUPRS does!

Race Modeled after Real Event

The race is modeled after the real Star Classic held annually at the quarter-mile paved oval track built by Charlie Elliot and now promoted by Bobby Webber, Jr.  The popular supermodified race features the International Supermodified Association and has been a mainstay of the supermodified “Triple Crown” that also includes the Oswego Speedway International Classic 200, and the Sandusky Speedway Supermodified Nationals 100.

First Race of Supermodified Sim Racing Triple Crown

SUPRS Triple Crown presented by Icings on Top graphic

The SUPRS Triple Crown presented by Icings on Top has only been won twice.

The SUPRS All-Star Classic 200 is not only an important stand-alone show, but it’s also the first leg one of the 2018  SUPRS Triple Crown presented by Icings on Top. Similar to the real supermodified Triple Crown, it is composed of three different marquee events that includes the aforementioned All-Star Classic 200, the Season Summit 125 held at Madera Speedway, and the non-wing supermodified Topless! 200 at Oswego Speedway.

Many consider winning just one of these events a noteworthy accomplishment, but scoring all three is a true mark of a supermodified sim racer. That being said, only two drivers have accomplished the feat, that being Ray Sand, Jr. and Rob Warren.

Sand, Jr. Super at Star

Of the previous seven All-Star Classic 200 races run, Ray Sand, Jr. has won three of them including the very first one contested in 2011. That win propelled him to the first SUPRS Triple Crown that same year. Keith Powell and Rob Warren each have seen victory lane after the grueling 200 laps as well, but only Steve Callahan comes close to Sand, Jr.’s accomplishment. Callahan went back to back for his two wins in 2015 and 2016 using the NASCAR Heat gaming platform.

Stamina at Star

Only 12 drivers make the show, and coupled with the fact that racing is contested within the confines of Star Speedway’s quarter-mile, there’s heavy traffic almost from the drop of the green, the track tends to get slick as the race wears on and drivers become fatigued turning 10 second laps, you can bet that this is one of the toughest races on the SUPRS schedule.

This 200 lap thriller is a show where the drivers never rest and even though cautions count toward the 200 lap total, the show generally takes nearly 45 minutes to run. So it will be important for drivers to have plenty of stamina if they want to make it to the finish.

More SUPRS All-Star Classic 200 Details

A blind draw for the Elite 8 takes place prior to the running of the 20 lap B-Main at 8:06. The Green flag for the 8th Annual SUPRS All-Star Classic 200 drops after pre-race festivities and driver introduction at about 9:30pm.

Star Speedway by Neg B Track Designs Ready to Challenge SUPRS Racers

Goshen, IN – July 18, 2016…The Supermodified Ultimate Pavement Racing Series, (SUPRS), in partnership with Neg B Track Designs, will début the brand new Star Speedway track for rFactor for the Neg B Nifty 50 on Tuesday.

Built specifically for  SUPRS Non-Wing Supermodified sim racing, the SUPRS Star Speedway V1.0 by Neg B Track Designs, is a completely original and scratch built rFactor track.

SUPRS Star Speedway V1.0 continues the SUPRS tradition of constantly striving to build the most historically accurate and online racing friendly versions of real tracks that are or have historically been linked to supermodified racing.

This track for rFactor has many of the details that make the real Star Speedway unique and loved by fans and competitors alike. This track was painstakingly recreated for sim racing by Neg B Track Designs with the use of fan and driver photos, GPS, and personal experiences of SUPRS members and Star Speedway officials and racers.

Nashua, NH resident and supermodified crew member Tom Netishen, (whose brother Mike is a 350 supermodified champion), was extensively involved with this project providing first hand advice of object placement and nuances about the track. Tom also provided many of the detailed photos that were used for this build.

Star Speedway official John Ashley provided specific comments on the pit area, pit exit and pit lighting.

Nearly all in-game objects were painstakingly scratch built by NegB Track Designs to specific dimensions and designs provided by above the persons including grandstands, turn one barn and signage, turn three pit entrance, concessions, main entrance, officials tower and pit buildings.

As a special nod to long-time track owner, Bob Webber, Sr., we have included a Cadillac as a pace car. The Webber family and specifically Bob Sr. have been the key to this track’s lore and respect as the home of the last leg of the storied Supermodified Triple Crown.

Star Speedway, in Epping,NH, was built by legendary New England track builder and promoter Charlie Elliot in 1966.

It was the home to Russ Conway’s and Ken Smith’s New England SuperModified Racing Association, (NESMRA), until the track was sold to Bob Webber in the early 1980s.

The track is home to the Star International Classic held annually since 1966. Originally a NESMRA show, and now sanctioned by the International Supermodified Association,(ISMA), the race has varied between 150 and 200 laps.

The Star Classic is the third and last leg of the prestigious supermodified “Triple Crown” that also include the Sandusky Speedway Supermodified Nationals 100, and the Oswego Speedway International Classic 200.

Star Speedway has been the scene of many storied and classic battles among a who’s who of supermodified racing. Many fans still talk about the hard racing and rivalry of Ollie “Quick” Silva and “Big Daddy” Don MacLaren that amazed fans and frustrated competitors through the glory years of racing at Star.

Names like Warren, Belfiore, Martel, Bowley, West, Tiberio, Cloutier, Richardson, Rousseau, Cheney, Snap, Batchelder, Witkum, Ordway, Perley and Wood, have added to the lore of supermodified racing and provided the fans of Star Speedway thrills and chills through the years.

Even though Star Speedway is one of the widest New England short tracks and provides plenty of room for racing, the wheel to wheel and sometimes wheel over wheel racing that it has become so famous for provided as much action in the pits between heated competitors and crews after the race as that seen on the track!

As of the date of this release, Star Speedway is operating weekly and features the “Outlaw” 350 Supers.

The Neg B Nifty 50 takes place  on Tuesday July 19, 2016. The SUPRS Race Server will open at 7pm for systems test, with Official Practice starting at 8pm.  Then at 8:30pm there will a  drivers meeting.

In a bit of a change to the regular SUPRS Non-Wing Championship race formats, Time Trials will be run at  8:45pm and there will be no Heat Races. The Fast Four qualifiers will be inverted into the 50 lap feature based on time while the rest of the Elite 8 qualifiers will start the race based on handicap. The green flag will drop on the first ever SUPRS supermodified sim racing feature at Star Speedway at 9pm.
