Grab a win and win a Turkey!

The winner of the race receives a Burgers’ Smokehouse turkey, delivered to the doorstep in time to enjoy it with the family for Thanksgiving dinner.

For the first three years of the Turkey Shoot it was held at the big 3/4 mile track and varied in length from 63-40 laps. John Davidson won the very first show in 2005 with Chris Meyers picking up one of his first SUPRS feature wins in 2006. Florida’s Kris Heveron was the winner in 2007 in a 17 car field.

Nom, Nom, Nom thanks to Burgers’ Smokehouse!

2008 saw a move to Tri-Park Speedway where the race stayed for the next six years. Ray Sand, Jr. won that first Tri-Park show then did it again the next year to become the first back-to-back winner.

In 2010-11 Dave Biro III duplicated Sand, Jr.’s feat before Rob Warren took home the Burgers’ Smokehouse Turkey in 2012 and donated it to injured supermodified racer Jeff Russell.

Joey Callahan not only claimed his first Turkey Shoot in 2013 at Tri-Park, but  also won his first ever SUPRS feature. Carl Becker was the winner in 2014 and both drivers capitalized on their starting position which is set by the six lap Turkey Trot qualifying race for the Elite 8 of Time Trials.

Last year the race moved back to Memphis and used the SUPRS non-wing rFactor mod. After the start was called back, the 2015 race went green to checkered with great battles throughout. Ray Sand, Jr. won his third Burgers’ Smokehouse turkey and donated to fellow SUPRS racer Myles Maxon who had recently lost his grandmother.

Practice for the SUPRS 12th Annual Turkey Shoot at Memphis Motorsports Park begins at 8:00pm. The Fast 4 qualifiers will take the first racing green flag of the night at 9:00pm with the six lap Turkey Trot to set the first two rows of the 40 lap main event.

Veterans Day Special Sim Race to Honor Those Who Served

Share SUPRS:

November 6, 2016 – Goshen, IN…The Supermodified Ultimate Pavement Racing Series, (SUPRS), continues it’s long standing tradition of striving to bring about awareness of the men and women who have served in the United States Military with the running of the 2016 Veterans Day Special on November 8, 2016.

SUPRS Veterans Day Special
SUPRS hope is that all vets will have the proper health and medical care they need after serving their country.

This year the race will be held for the first time at Levi Signature Speedway, a fictional rFactor track built by Gator that should be a real challenge to the SUPRS racers with it’s high-banked tri-oval configuration.

So far this season, there have been six different winners in seven races and the SUPRS Gold Crest Wing Championship points have been in a constant flux among the top five.

Steve Callahan is the most recent winner on the circuit and hopes to use the momentum gained from his North Carolina Swing Championship to catapult him into his second Veterans Day Special win and first since 2009. He’ll have to contend with myriad of tough competitors including his teammate Keith Powell, Joe Achzet as well as former Veterans Day Special winners”Rocket” Rob Warren (2014), and Carl “Bonzai” Becker (2013).

SUPRS believes that there is a real and definite crisis in the United States where our veterans do not receive proper medical care and are often left languishing without a job or home to live in because of addiction , physical and mental health issues.

Because of that, SUPRS will be making a donation to the Infinite Hero Foundation in support of their mission to provide access to “rehabilitation programs that address the unique needs of veterans and their families.”

Practice for the SUPRS Veterans Day Special 75 at Levi Signature Speedway begins at 8:00pm with racing slated to go at 9:00.

The Soldier

It is the soldier, not the reporter,
Who has given us freedom of the press.

It is the soldier, not the poet,
Who has given us freedom of speech.

It is the soldier, not the campus organizer,
Who has given us the freedom to demonstrate.

It is the soldier, not the lawyer,
Who has given us the right to a fair trial.

It is the soldier who salutes the flag,
Who serves under the flag,
And whose coffin is draped by the flag,
who allows the protester to burn the flag.

Grueling North Carolina Swing Next for SUPRS

Share SUPRS:

North Carolina Swing is Toughest Multi-Race Swing on the Schedule

October 28, 2016 – Goshen, IN…The Supermodified Ultimate Pavement Racing Series, (SUPRS),  racers have begun to prepare themselves for the grueling 13th Annual North Carolina Swing which will take place from November 2-4 featuring five different tracks in three nights of racing all based in North Carolina.

As the racers vie for the coveted North Carolina Swing Championship Crown they will also be racing for points in the Gold Crest Wing Supermodified Championship and this year will be all the more challenging with a new venue and two sim racing platforms.

The series kicks off Tuesday, November 2 at Dasera Speedway and Caraway Speedway using the SUPRS W v6.0 mod for NASCAR Heat, then moves to Concord Motorsports Park, and for the first time, Southern National Motorspots Park on November 3 using the new SUPRS W v7.0 mod for rFactor.

Once the points are tallied from the first four races, invitations to the top eight, plus two alternates will be sent asking each to attend Hickory Motor Speedway on Friday, November 4 where the winner of challenging “Hickory Hustle 75″ will be crowned the 2016-17 North Carolina Swing Champion.

To date, there has been just one driver to win the North Carolina Swing Championship more than once. “Mighty” Myles Maxon. He first did it back to back in 2009 and 2010. Last year Ray Sand, Jr. and Bob Gangwer were looking to join Maxon as multi-time North Carolina Swing champions, but Rob Warren, after nearly sweeping night two for the third year in a row, held off both at the Hickory Hustle to claim his first NC Swing crown.

Steve Callahan has one of the best finishing records in the history of The Hickory Hustle, yet has never been able to win the race or the North Carolina Swing Championship. While work kept him out of the hunt last year, Callahan will be a driver to watch throughout the North Carolina Swing.

Callahan’s teammate Keith Powell is coming off his first SUPRS Championship after just narrowly edging out Rob Warren for the 2015 Gold Crest Non-Wing crown and has shown a lot of speed during pre-season testing, while Joe Achzet, Derrick Backus, 2015 NW Icings on Top Rookie of the Year Kyle Clark, Chad Phelps, Kevin Timmins, Dave Brigandi, Domenic Gioia, Joey Callahan, and others are looking to make it into the Hickory Hustle and etch their names on the list of first time North Carolina Swing champions.

The Hickory Hustle takes the top eight in points after the first four races and pits them against each other with a random start at Hickory Motor Speedway. It’s just one more reason the North Carolina Swing crown is one of the most sought after, and hardest to win, for the SUPRS drivers.

Thrills and Chills Expected at New Venue for October Ending Race

Goshen, IN – October 21, 2016….The Supermodified Ultimate Pavement Racing Series, (SUPRS), will close out October with the 50 lap Black Kat Klassic on October 25 for the first time at Red Ball Raceway.

You’ll never be frightened by the prices and quality of BreezeGraphics.com

The race had been held for many years at the slightly banked 1/2 mile of  Decatur Speedway in Illinois using the SUPRS W v6.0 mod for NASCAR Heat. The move to Red Ball Raceway in Kentucky also signals a move to rFactor, high-banks and nerve-wracking speed every lap.

The SUPRS 2016-17 Gold Crest Championship got underway last week with the Harvest of Speed opener, and for the first time, Bob Gangwer was victorious in this race.

In the 13 year history of SUPRS, there has never been a driver that has won the first two races of the season in a row, so Gangwer is looking to not only break that record, but also hoping to win his first ever Black Kat Klassic.

Defending Black Kat Klassic winner Rob Warren, who led a good part of the season opener at LaPorte, hopes to join Ray Sand, Jr., Myles Maxon, John Davidson and Carl Becker, as a multi-time Black Kat Klassic winner.

Becker was back in action after a summer off and looked good at LaPorte last week. He qualified second quick and ran in the top five at times, ending up sixth at the end of the race. His one downfall may be that he has very little track time in his rFactor sim racing supermodified, but he has been faster each time he’s taken it out on the Red Ball Raceway banks.

The fearless SUPRS thrill seekers take on high-banked 5/8 mile Red Ball Raceway October 25, 2016 beginning with practice which starts at 8:00pm. Time Trials will follow at 8:30pm and spine chilling racing gets under way with a special Crack the Whip race for the Fast Four qualifiers at 9:00pm.
