13th Year of SUPRS Supermodified Sim Racing Begins Where SUPRS Started

Goshen, IN October 11, 2016…The Supermodified Ultimate Pavement Racing Series, (SUPRS), will kick off it’s 13th season of supermodified sim racing with the running of the Harvest of Speed on October 18 at LaPorte Speedway.

As has been the case for the previous 12 years, the original online sim supermodified sim racing sanction will start it’s  2016-17 Gold Crest Wing Supermodified Sim Racing schedule at this fictional and tight 3/8th mile track located in Northern Indiana and will use the NASCAR Heat sim racing platform to do so.

To say winning a feature race at LaPorte is tough would be an understatement since the first Harvest of Speed was run in 2004, just five drivers have ever won it.

Defending SUPRS Gold Crest Wing Champion, Ray Sand, Jr., won the race last year and has a total of six feature wins at LaPorte including the 2011 and 2013 Harvest of Speed races.

Only Myles Maxon and John Davidson have more total wins at LaPorte and Maxon’s four Harvest of Speed victories at LaPorte make up the bulk of his seven total wins here . Three of those wins came in a row from 2007-2009. Davidson’s chalked up an incredible run of eight straight checkered flags at LaPorte from February 2005 to April 2006, with one of those being the very first Harvest of Speed.

Sean O’Kane (2006), Gary Waldron (2010), and Chris Meyers (2012) are the only other drivers to have won the Harvest of Speed. Steve Callahan, Jim Crannell, Josh Crannell, Doug Heveron, and Jesse Kennedy have also etched their names into the SUPRS record book as one-time LaPorte Speedway race winners, although none of them brought in the Harvest.

This year’s Harvest of Speed will again be a part of the Indyana Supermod Challenge, a multi-race, season-long mini-series that also includes races at Indianapolis Raceway Park.

With all the marks in the win column at LaPorte Speedway it should come as no surprise that Maxon and Sand, Jr. also have the most Indyana Supermod Challenge Championships with Maxon having six and Sand, Jr. three. Steve Callahan is the defending ISC Champion.

The overall Indyana Supermod Challenge Champion will be awarded 10 SUPRS Gold Crest Wing Championship points and receive a five-pound bag of  Yoder’s award-winning Indiana popcorn.

Practice for the 13th Annual Harvest of Speed begins at 8:00pm, with the Drivers Meeting taking place at 8:15. Time Trials follow at 8:30pm and racing is set to start at 9:00pm.

SUPRS Heroes Unite for 2016 Mr. Online Supermodified

Mr. Online Supermodified Sim Racing Event is Battle Royale

Goshen, IN – July 30, 2016…The Supermodified Ultimate Pavement Racing Series, (SUPRS), 9th Mr. Online Supermodified sim race will see all the SUPRS heroes in a battle royale at Oswego Speedway to decide which deserves to be named Mr. Online Supermodified on August 2, 2016.

Have no fear, BreezeGraphics.com is here for your promotional needs.

To win the coveted 9th Annual Mr. Online Supermodified Cup sponsored by 1st to Finish Race Servers, a driver will need to be able to leap past their fellow SUPRS racers as fast as speeding bullet and use all their “super powers” throughout the  event using their non-wing rFactor supermodifieds as their weapon.

Points will be kept for time trials, heat races, and the 75 lap feature race to decide who will be the 9th Annual Mr. Online Supermodified.

Mr. Online Supermodified History

Kris Heveron of Jensen Beach, FL won the first two Mr. Online Supermodified races and at that time in 2008 and 2009, they were 100 lap affairs with a 25 lap shootout.

Last year, current SUPRS Gold Crest Non-Wing Champion “Rocket” Rob Warren became Mr. Online Supermodified for the second time in his career, his first win came in 2011, and with three wins already this season becoming the first three-time winner of the race will help him fend off the challengers he’s faced lately that threaten to throw him off the SUPRS Championship throne.

Another former Mr. Online Supermodified, Keith Powell, (2010 winner), has battled his way into the SUPRS point lead and has become Warren’s Kryptonite and closest challenger in the Championship. “Put One on Ya” Powell is confident he can continue his charge and recently stated, “These longer races really play into my hands because I can take care of my tires and the car.”

Powell’s teammate “Steady” Steve Callahan has never been Mr. Online Supermodified, but will use this event to try to power his way back to the top after being knocked to third in the standings just one race ago.

Bob Gangwer is the only driver other than Heveron to win the race back to back, doing so in 2012 and 2013. Vilified by some, considered a dictator by others, and misunderstood by most, Gangwer is looking for the elixir that will give him extreme boost for a run into victory lane. A recent secret acquisition of a rebuilt G27 could be the potent potion that puts “Bobby G.” on top.

In 2014, Ray Sand, Jr., battled “Mighty” Myles Maxon to claim his first Mr. Online Supermodified but has not been as strong as of late. Could the “The Sandman” stop his downward slide and return to his former glory and rightful place of Mr. Online Supermodified this year?

With a host of other SUPRSHeroes like “The X Man”, “The Cobra”, “Attaboy”, “The Dominator”, “D-Rock”, and “The Breeze”, this race could be one of epic proportions!

Supermodified and online sim racing fans looking for some “POW”, “BANG”, and “SHAZAAM” can view timing and scoring of every SUPRS race this season with SUPRS LIVE! Star Speedway by Neg B Track Designs Ready to Challenge SUPRS Racers

Goshen, IN – July 18, 2016…The Supermodified Ultimate Pavement Racing Series, (SUPRS), in partnership with Neg B Track Designs, will début the brand new Star Speedway track for rFactor for the Neg B Nifty 50 on Tuesday.

Built specifically for  SUPRS Non-Wing Supermodified sim racing, the SUPRS Star Speedway V1.0 by Neg B Track Designs, is a completely original and scratch built rFactor track.

SUPRS Star Speedway V1.0 continues the SUPRS tradition of constantly striving to build the most historically accurate and online racing friendly versions of real tracks that are or have historically been linked to supermodified racing.

This track for rFactor has many of the details that make the real Star Speedway unique and loved by fans and competitors alike. This track was painstakingly recreated for sim racing by Neg B Track Designs with the use of fan and driver photos, GPS, and personal experiences of SUPRS members and Star Speedway officials and racers.

Nashua, NH resident and supermodified crew member Tom Netishen, (whose brother Mike is a 350 supermodified champion), was extensively involved with this project providing first hand advice of object placement and nuances about the track. Tom also provided many of the detailed photos that were used for this build.

Star Speedway official John Ashley provided specific comments on the pit area, pit exit and pit lighting.

Nearly all in-game objects were painstakingly scratch built by NegB Track Designs to specific dimensions and designs provided by above the persons including grandstands, turn one barn and signage, turn three pit entrance, concessions, main entrance, officials tower and pit buildings.

As a special nod to long-time track owner, Bob Webber, Sr., we have included a Cadillac as a pace car. The Webber family and specifically Bob Sr. have been the key to this track’s lore and respect as the home of the last leg of the storied Supermodified Triple Crown.

Star Speedway, in Epping,NH, was built by legendary New England track builder and promoter Charlie Elliot in 1966.

It was the home to Russ Conway’s and Ken Smith’s New England SuperModified Racing Association, (NESMRA), until the track was sold to Bob Webber in the early 1980s.

The track is home to the Star International Classic held annually since 1966. Originally a NESMRA show, and now sanctioned by the International Supermodified Association,(ISMA), the race has varied between 150 and 200 laps.

The Star Classic is the third and last leg of the prestigious supermodified “Triple Crown” that also include the Sandusky Speedway Supermodified Nationals 100, and the Oswego Speedway International Classic 200.

Star Speedway has been the scene of many storied and classic battles among a who’s who of supermodified racing. Many fans still talk about the hard racing and rivalry of Ollie “Quick” Silva and “Big Daddy” Don MacLaren that amazed fans and frustrated competitors through the glory years of racing at Star.

Names like Warren, Belfiore, Martel, Bowley, West, Tiberio, Cloutier, Richardson, Rousseau, Cheney, Snap, Batchelder, Witkum, Ordway, Perley and Wood, have added to the lore of supermodified racing and provided the fans of Star Speedway thrills and chills through the years.

Even though Star Speedway is one of the widest New England short tracks and provides plenty of room for racing, the wheel to wheel and sometimes wheel over wheel racing that it has become so famous for provided as much action in the pits between heated competitors and crews after the race as that seen on the track!

As of the date of this release, Star Speedway is operating weekly and features the “Outlaw” 350 Supers.

The Neg B Nifty 50 takes place  on Tuesday July 19, 2016. The SUPRS Race Server will open at 7pm for systems test, with Official Practice starting at 8pm.  Then at 8:30pm there will a  drivers meeting.

In a bit of a change to the regular SUPRS Non-Wing Championship race formats, Time Trials will be run at  8:45pm and there will be no Heat Races. The Fast Four qualifiers will be inverted into the 50 lap feature based on time while the rest of the Elite 8 qualifiers will start the race based on handicap. The green flag will drop on the first ever SUPRS supermodified sim racing feature at Star Speedway at 9pm.
