Decatur, IL – October 28, 2014….After a one week layoff, the racers of the Supermodified Ultimate Pavement Racing Series are set to finish off October with the 50 lap Black Kat Klassic at Decatur Speedway.
Defending race winner Carl Becker has been able to maintain a top five spot in the points chase early in the season and being a two-time winner of the race, he particularly likes the challenges of this track. “I don’t know what it is about Decatur, but it seems to be one of my better tracks and as long as I can stay off of that guard rail, I think I’ll do ok,” he said recently.
Myles Maxon will take the point lead to Decatur and has two wins to his credit early in the season. Steve Callahan, a former winner of the Black Kat Klassic, has one win and sits 39 points behind Maxon in the Gold Crest Wing Supermodified Season Championship.
The SUPRS racers will take on the challenges of Decatur Speedway October 28, 2014 beginning with practice which starts at 8:00pm. Time Trials will follow at 8:30pm and Racing gets under way with a special Crack the Whip race for the Fast Four qualifiers at 9:00pm.
