February 9, 2020 – Manchester, NH…The Supermodified Ultimate Pavement Racing Series, (SUPRS), 10th Annual SUPRS All-Star Classic 200 is set for February 11, 2020 at Star Speedway in Epping, NH. The 2020 Triple Crown of Supermodified Sim Racing presented by Icings on Top gets rolling at this challenging race.

Sim Race is Similar to Real Event

The race is modeled after the real Star Classic held annually at the quarter-mile paved oval track built by Charlie Elliot and now promoted by Bobby Webber, Jr.  The popular supermodified race features the International Supermodified Association and has been a mainstay of the supermodified “Triple Crown” that also includes the Oswego Speedway International Classic 200, and the Sandusky Speedway Supermodified Nationals 100.

Supermodified Sim Racing Triple Crown Race

The SUPRS All-Star Classic 200 is not only an important stand-alone show, but it’s also the first leg one of the 2020  SUPRS Triple Crown of Supermodified Sim Racing presented by Icings on Top. Similar to the real supermodified Triple Crown, it is composed of three different marquee events that includes the aforementioned All-Star Classic 200, the Season Summit 125 held at Madera Speedway, and the non-wing supermodified Topless! 200 at Oswego Speedway.

The SUPRS Triple Crown presented by Icings on Top has only been won twice.

Many consider winning just one of these events a noteworthy accomplishment, but taking the checkered flag in all three is a true mark of a supermodified sim racer. Only two drivers have accomplished the feat in SUPRS 16 years and not surprisingly it’s the two guys that stand on top of the SUPRS All-Time Win List-Ray Sand, Jr. and Rob Warren.

Three Former Winners Expected

Three former winners of the SUPRS All-Star Classic 200 have indicated they will be ready to roll on February 11. Two are two-time All-Star Classic 200 champions and one is looking for his first win since 2012.

Last year Rob Warren was content to ride in second place, conserving his car, a move unlike his first win in 2017 when he lead every lap and ran away from the field. However, he suddenly found himself in the lead after Brad Keysor lost control of his car and spun into the infield then back onto the track in turn one.

2015-2016 winner Steve Callahan finally has a break in the work schedule and it looks like he’ll be able to try to come back for his third win on Tuesday. Callahan finished in fourth place last year. His first win in 2015 was, at that point, the closest in the young history of the race where he held three-time All-Star Classic 200 winner Ray Sand, Jr. at bay. In 2016 he joined Sand, Jr. as a multi-time winner and led all 200 laps.

Keith Powell of Carrollton, OH, the 2012 SUPRS All-Star Classic 200 winner, is looking to take another step up on the podium from his incredible run of second place finishes. In fact, Powell, who is sponsored by Icings on Top, has never finished below second place in the last three years. He missed a string of 200s from 2013-16, but his methodically slow pace early in the race, and his ability to play the long game puts him as one of the favorites to win.

SUPRS All-Star Classic 200 Details

Just 12 drivers make the show, and that alone makes it something special. Add in the facts that the racing is contested within the confines of Star Speedway’s quarter-mile, there’s heavy traffic almost from the drop of the green, the track tends to get slick as the race wears on, and drivers become fatigued turning 10 second laps, you can bet that this is one of the toughest races on the SUPRS schedule and in all supermodified sim racing.

Practice for the SUPRS All-Star Classic 200 begins at 7:30pm. The Drivers Meeting takes place in TeamSpeak  following practice. Time Trials start at 8:15pm where the Elite 8 get locked into the feature.

A blind draw for the Elite 8 takes place prior to the running of the 20 lap B-Main at 8:30pm to set the rest of the 12 car starting field. The Green flag for the 10th Annual SUPRS All-Star Classic 200 drops after pre-race festivities and driver introduction at about 9:10pm.
