Server Issues Shut Sandusky Down
Sandusky, OH – January 14, 2014….They say the third time is a charm, but it wasn’t to be the case Tuesday night for the Supermodified Ultimate Pavement Racing Series. After three attempts to fix a server issue, league directors decided to postpone the Terry Gibson Fast 50 until further notice.
SUPRS was set to kick off a two night swing of action at Sandusky Speedway to honor Terry Gibson, an Ohio supermodified racer that perished in a crash at Toledo Speedway in 2008, but with nine drivers signed in and ready to go, league officials determined that there was simply too much warp and didn’t want technical issues to be the cause of a bad night for the racers.
Defending race winner, and current point leader Ray Sand, Jr. said, “There were cars all over the place on top of each other and going through walls, it’s something that I haven’t seen in a long time.”
SUPRS will give it all another shot Wednesday night when they will attempt to get the prestigious Terry Gibson Memorial 100. Practice begins at 8:00 pm.
