Warren Masterful Enroute to Second Dion Parish Memorial

Rob Warren Slices Through Field from Seventh Place Start on His Way to Second Dion Parish Memorial Win

Kalamazoo, MI – December 5, 2017…Rob Warren drove a masterful race as he battled his way from seventh starting place enroute to his second Supermodified Ultimate Pavement Racing Series, (SUPRS), Dion Parish Memorial win on Tuesday at Kalamazoo Speedway. Warren passed Kyle Clark on lap 33 for the lead and went on to win. Because of his efforts, Warren also received 10 bonus points after being deemed the SUPRSCharger for advancing the most positions from his starting spot.

Masterful Drive Leads to SUPRSCharger

In addition, the 1^st to Finish Race Servers sponsored driver has joined Ray Sand, Jr. and Chris Meyers as the only multiple winners of this race that honors real supermodified racer Dion Parish who lost his life at Kalamazoo in 2002.

Rodrigues, Powell on Podium

Nelson Rodrigues drove a splendid race, running in second place the entire 62 lap race and eventually finished there over second behind the winner. Keith Powell was third after being involved in some very tough battles for position, including with his own teammate Steve Callahan, who ended up in fifth place. Early leader Clark held on for fourth after leading the first 38 laps.

Rough Night for Timmins

Five cautions for 19 laps slowed the race with Kevin Timmins being the cause of three of those and eventually ending his night with a wild flip in the BreezGraphics.com roadster on the front stretch. Timmins was the only driver scored with a DNF after a rough night for the likable driver from Baldwinsville, NY.

Christmas Special Next on Schedule

The Supermodified Ultimate Pavement Racing Series, (SUPRS), tradition of ending the year with their Christmas Special continues on December 12, 2017. Airborne Speedway is the site of the action on Tuesday and is the first time that SUPRS has raced at this Plattsburgh, NY track.

Because it’s a New York track, this race kicks off the 2017-18 Empire State Super Series and is the first of an expanded five race schedule for the regional tour championship.

The Fourteenth Christmas Special is a quick 25 lap race and the winner will receive a Christmas Ham from Burgers’ Smokehouse. practice which starts at 8:15pm. Qualifying follows at 8:45pm and Racing gets underway at 9:00pm with the Reindeer Dash.
