Warren Wins Third Straight Shampine Memorial

First SUPRS Racer to Win Three Jim Shampine Memorial Sim Races in a Row

June 19, 2018 – Oswego, NY…Rob Warren of Pulaski, NY continues to add to his legacy in the Supermodified Ultimate Pavement Racing Series, (SUPRS), and has once again set a new record after winning his third straight SUPRS Jim Shampine Memorial Tuesday at Oswego Speedway.

Leads All 80 Laps

Warren quickly disposed of pole-sitter Nelson Rodrigues and was in the lead before the first lap was complete. He never relinquished the top spot in a race that had just a single caution period for a spun out Steve Callahan.

Disturbed Charges to Front

The Disturbed Motorsports duo of Derrick Backus and Kyle Clark moved through the field to second and third after starting sixth and seventh. Backus had the best shot at breaking Warren’s Shampine Memorial win streak and showed Warren a wheel both to the inside and outside on several occasions. However, each time he made a move his car picked up a major aero-push and he was unable to get by, choosing instead to back down and settle for a top three finish.

Throwback to the Good Old Days

SUPRS takes a step back to the glory days of the famed Oswego Speedway with the 1^st to Finish Race Servers “IrReGuLar 45” next Tuesday. This race is modeled after the weekly slate of events that made up a Saturday night at “The Home of the Supermodifieds” and is a reminder of just how tough it was to win a feature at Oswego Speedway during the 1970s and 1980s.

With heats, semi-features, and a 45 lap feature all lined up by the Points Won Handicap System, the battle for the final transfer spot in the preliminaries is sure to make for a great show.  Practice begins at 8:00pm, with the first heat race set to take the track at 9:00pm.
