11th Annual Topless! 200 Will Determine Xtreme SUPRS Challenge Champion
Goshen, IN – August 15, 2015…The Supermodified Ultimate Pavement Racing Series, (SUPRS), and Xtreme Short Track Sim Racing, (XSTSR), will come together for at the 11th Annual Topless! 200 on Tuesday August 17 for the last of the six race Xtreme SUPRS Challenge Championship, (XSCC).
The 11th Annual Topless! 200 is the longest, and toughest sim supermodified race of the season, and also SUPRS last points show of their inaugural rFactor season. SUPRS will crown their 11th Gold Crest Non-Wing Champion at this event.
As the last leg of the six race 2015 Xtreme SUPRS Challenge Championship, a joint venture between the two online sanctions, a champion will be crowned for the XSCC as well.
Race four and five of the XSCC was the SUPRS 8th Annual Mr. Online Supermodified where Brian Strickland won the wing part of the event and AJ Bernys, (although not eligible for XSCC points), won the non-wing part on the SUPRS Race Server. Strickland used his win to break away from the pack as the sole leader of the series, while Ray Sand, Jr., Chris Meyers, and Rob Warren ran well enough to stay within striking distance no more than 22 points behind Strickland.
Strickland then came back the next day and was fast right out of the box in his SUPRS non-wing sim supermodified and even though he struggled in the race and eventually pulled pitside, was able to gain a few more points in the Challenge Championship standings.
Art Palmer, who had been in a tie with Strickland and Meyers leading up to the last event, is still a contender but sits fifth overall.
The first drivers first challenge of this last XSCC event will be to time trial into the race on Monday, August 17. Only the two fastest qualifiers are locked into the race. Everyone else, (other than guaranteed starters Ray Sand, Jr. and Keith Powell), will have to battle their way to a good starting place through the heat races which take place on Tuesday August 18 prior to the big 200 lap race. All of the action will take place on the SUPRS Race Server for non-wing supermodified racing using the SUPRS NW V1 rFactor mod and the SUPRS Oswego Speedway track.
Both points from time trials and the 11th Annual Topless! 200 will be used to decide the 2015 Xtreme SUPRS Challenge Champion. Of the top drivers in contention to win the Xtreme SUPRS Challenge Championship, only one has ever been a SUPRS Topless! 200 Champion and that is three-time winner Ray Sand, Jr.
This fine-looking piece of hardware will be awarded to the 11th Annual Topless! 200 winner on August 18.
To win the 11th Annual Topless! 200 trophy sponsored by 1st to Finish Docks & Hoists, a driver will need not only need to time trial well, but will have to be patient and smooth over the course of 200 grueling laps so that the car is capable of finishing the race.
